We had the most amazing gastronomic experience in Cusco in Moray. We didn’t expect much when we first came in. But I think my mind was blown so far away now I’m still looking for it, it may take a few days.
We ordered a grilled chicken salad as appetizer, grilled chicken and grilled alpaca as main course.
I have never tasted salad like that. The salad was so fresh I think the ingredients all have spirits and they were telling me about how pure of a life they had lived when I was eating them.
The grilled chicken was so soft I wondered what kind of godly chicken tribe it came from. The mash potato came with it, I think they put some herb and mint in it… I dunno my tongue just had an orgasm I think. It tastes like Chanel no 5 in my mouth.
At first we felt bad for ordering the alpacas as they look so cute. But the chef definitely did them justice. I think they’d be pleased to know that the chef did a wonderful job of their bodies.
We ordered the chocolate truffle as dessert and had to encore another one with a brownie. I believe they hire Oompa Loompas to whip some magic up for their cacao desserts back in the kitchen. Charlie please leave them alone to work in the restaurant.
To top off the night, all the service staff were amazing, and super knowledgable about the ingredients and dishes. Thanks Edy and Urbano!!
Highly highly recommend to give this restaurant a try, if not, you just dunno what you’re missing out in life. And it’d suck to be you for not trying out...
Read moreDuring our first day in Cusco, we stumbled upon Moray quite by accident, given its proximity to our hotel. What a fortuitous find it turned out to be! From the moment we stepped in, we were impressed by the exceptional service and delightful cuisine.
On our inaugural visit, I enjoyed a perfectly grilled chicken with creamy mashed potatoes, while my husband savored a delectable beef dish. For dessert, we indulged in a refreshing basil ice cream paired with cocoa balls – a unique and delicious treat. Our waiter, Urbano, was outstanding, offering insightful explanations of each dish and recommending fantastic cocktails.
It’s no wonder we returned to Moray. On our second visit, Edy, our new waiter, continued the tradition of excellent service. His deep knowledge of the menu and professional demeanor made the experience even more memorable. I had the best ceviche of my life, made from fresh trout and flavored with zesty tiger milk. For the main course, the grilled trout was exquisite, with a presentation that truly made each dish a work of art.
Moray is a hidden gem that deserves much more recognition. The restaurant’s cozy ambiance, varied menu, and exceptional staff make it a standout choice in Cusco. I’m already looking forward to returning and seeing how Moray evolves in the future. Thank you for making our dining experiences...
Read moreMoray Restaurant in Cusco is delightful! The place is kept very warm, which was very welcome after being out in the cold mountain air exploring all day. The staff started us out with some bread and homemade butter served on a warm stone. We ordered a trout ceviche, which is a local specialty, because as the staff explained to us, trout is the only type of fish found in the highlands. Our cocktails were very delicious, both blended to perfection with lovely fruit flavors and enough alcohol to keep us warm. My wife ordered the chicken meal which was served atop a bed of local mashed potatoes and was garnished with some greens and flowers. I, on the other hand, took the typical Peruvian “lomo saltado” or marinated, stir-fried sirloin steak and some fettuccine in a sauce made from three different cheeses, including two local varieties. For dessert, we got a roll-up of sweet corn with chocolate and whipped cream as well as some fried chocolate balls which pop in your mouth with warm, melted chocolate. This is served with a bit of ice cream to cool you off from the warm chocolate. Everything was delicious and carefully prepared, and our server, Katia, did a great job of explaining our dishes and making sure we had...
