Terrible experience and awful service. Small museum, with strong smell of mold in the rooms. We were in three and before leaving the museum, needed to use the toilet, but for our surprise there was no toilet paper in the female restroom and in the male restroom either. When we asked the staff about it, they said the person in charge was out and there was nothing they could do. They suggested us to go to another museum to use the toilet there!!! When we asked about the manager, they said the manager was out and wouldn’t inform the manager’s name. We said we would wait for the person to return or for them to find a solution, and they basically kept us waiting for more than 10 minutes till they finally brought the paper (that was somewhere there all the time!!!) and cut with a scissor very small pieces for each one of us. According to them, they don’t keep toilet paper in the restrooms because the tourists steal the toilet paper (!!!!!). Of course, tourists pay thousands of dollars in tickets to Peru, trip packages and hotels to go to museums and steal toilet paper….Seriously, that’s an awful treatment to people that come from far away, using the toilet at a place you paid to get in is something very basic, and they treated us as if we were doing something wrong and made us feel very ashamed for having to ask for toilet paper that should be there in...

The Regional Historical Museum of Cusco presents a compact yet varied collection, offering insights into the pre-Columbian era, the grandeur of the Inca civilization, and the colonial period influenced by the Spanish conquest. Despite its size, the museum allows a quick delve—around 30 minutes—into the rich tapestry of Cusco’s past. While the relics are modest and the narratives could be more detailed, the museum is part of the Boleto Turístico, making it a cost-effective choice for visitors holding this pass. It’s a suitable option for those with limited time who still wish to glimpse the region’s extensive history. The museum’s maintenance, particularly the restrooms, could see some improvement to enhance the overall...

A very enriching visit to the Cusco Regional Historical Museum. The museum is located in a beautiful colonial mansion that belonged to Garcilaso de la Vega. The layout of the rooms takes you through the history of Cusco from pre-Inca times to the colonial era. I really liked the archaeological artifacts, the colonial paintings, and the clear explanation of each stage. The atmosphere is peaceful, ideal for a leisurely stroll. Plus, it’s included in the tourist ticket, so it’s a must-see if you’re exploring the historic center. Recommended if you’re interested in Peruvian history and culture!n
