The hotel is on a busy main road but very well placed for a short walk into the town centre (turn left, walk to the top, turn right- 10 minutes) or the very large market of San Pedro (turn left, walk to the top, turn left and keep going. Go though the town gate and the market is on the left- can't miss it.) The welcome is lovely and the hotel has a central courtyard with lovely tables and chairs which can be used for relaxing or eating of the dining room is busy. There is a very nice lounge which is ruined by a huge TV permanently showing football. This is a basic tourist hotel. By basic I mean that it is being run to a budget and that budget is low. The rooms are poorl;y appointed and have no tea or coffee facilities, the safe isn't big enough to get a laptop into and there are no USB points in the room or even sockets next to the bed . Rooms are quite small and do not have sufficient light levels. Only one small towel provided in the bathroom, for two people, and the bath towels are tiny. There is no washing line in the bathroom either. Pillows provided were like bricks and the ones sent on request were very soft. One redeeming feature is the shower which is powerful. Also getting internet download speeds of 500-700kbps which isn't bad for a tourist hotel at 3,400m! The staff are lovely and the baggage system (check out for two days, back in with another bag coming form a different hotel by remote control!) is a total wonder. Mint and Cocoa tea is available in the foyer free of charge until 6pm every night. Breakfast is very limited (especially after 6 days...) but adequate. We ate in the restaurant on our last night and found the meal surprisingly good and great value. The room is stuffy with no aircon but leaving the window open at night does allow the noise of the dogs in. So- if this hotel comes as part of a tour (Llama/ Condor) and you are offered the chance to upgrade, do so. If you are independent or feel that the room is not that important you will be happy here. 3.

Upon our arrival, the front desk staff radiated warmth and hospitality, making us feel immediately welcome. Their proactive and accommodating demeanor stood out, transforming every request into an opportunity to exceed our expectations. Their service was undoubtedly among the best we've ever experienced at a hotel. Our room, though compact, was thoughtfully equipped with both air conditioning and an additional fan, ensuring our comfort. The cable TV was a bonus, boasting an expansive selection of channels to cater to a variety of preferences. The on-site restaurant presented an appealing ambiance, tempting us with its allure even though we didn't get the chance to dine there. A special nod to their complimentary altitude sickness combatting tea – a thoughtful touch! Their lattes, too, were a delightful highlight, serving as an excellent pick-me-up. The hotel also featured a lounge area that instantly conveyed a sense of coziness. Equipped with comfortable couches, web-browsing computers, and a diverse selection of complimentary books, it offered a perfect spot for relaxation. Location-wise, the hotel holds an advantageous position by the central square, placing a variety of local shops within a comfortable walking distance. This made exploring local restaurants and hunting for unique souvenirs an effortless task. The convenient location greatly amplified our appreciation of the property. All in all, this hotel won our hearts with its unique charm and impeccable service.

Great experience at Los Portales Cusco! From the moment we arrived Julio was very kind and attentive to us! He was knowledgeable and made us feel safe and comfortable arriving to Cusco. Gladys and Joseph from the restaurant were exceptional, they were always helpful for breakfast, lunch and dinner! I love that they have coca and muña tea available at the terrace everyday, it was great to help with any altitude sickness. The rooms were great, the bed and pillows were super comfortable and the showers were hot and had great water pressure, perfect for after our long days of tours. The hotel was close by to shops and the Plaza de armas with all the restaurants! When I come back to Cusco I will definitely book another stay at LP! We loved the beautiful Christmas tree that was put up while we were there as well, it was a great touch! Thank you to all of the wonderful staff, my family had a lovely stay thanks to everyone!

The LP Los Portales Hotel Cusco Bad Customer service, please read a real customer review before book.

We are very surprised the hotel rating is so high, the front desk guys are not friendly and not helpful at all. When we checked in we were given a room with luggage and passenger still live in. They said its a mistake. Eventually they gave us a room after waited 30mins.

There is no shower gel in the rooms, we asked front desk, he said they don't have we can use the soap as shower gel. After we finished shower, he knocked the door say they found it.

We have early morning hiking from 5am, the breakfast start 6am, we asked if it's possible to pack some breakfast because we paid hotel room include breakfast. The front desk guy refused told us their breakfast start 6am, fine, we asked if it's possible to pack some coffee instead, the request is turned down once again. We don't know what should we say, Is it our fault?

The adjustment of shower hot and cold water took 15mins, it is difficult to use and very old.

Noisy rooms, there is only door connected one room with another! Can you believe that?! You can literally hear everything next door...

No air conditioning. Window can not open, We visited in July is fine, imagine if its summer time...

The room bath towel need to be replaced as it already used to a point it turned to dark grey color instead of white

The check out time is 10am, there is no late check out policy and if you want late check out and use facilities fees are 60USD

Also can you believe they don't have any spare masks for guests during covid time....??

All in all, I think people chose this hotel only because its location is good, other than that I don find it credible for its rate...
