Stayed in early July 2025. Charming hotel (almost like a bed & breakfast) located about 20 mins walk from the main square. Located up a hilly ally (not too steep) with 1 restaurant onsite. Overall, we enjoyed our stay in this quaint, warm hotel. The beds and friendly staff make up for the few cons of our stay. I would recommend this place for those looking to just get a restful night's sleep after a long day and filling up on fresh breakfast before before being out & about all day.||Pros:|great location, very hospitable staff, super comfy beds & lots of extra blankets, windows that open 2 ways, in-room kettle with lots of teas that help with altitude sickness, stand-alone heater, plenty of USB outlets, English TV channels, fresh breakfast, filtered water dispenser to refill bottes, restaurant food for lunch & dinner is delicious, restaurant staff are very friendly & accommodating, lobby is very bright, airy and comfortable to hang around after checkout/ before check-in, lobby bathrooms are nice.||Cons:|Wi-fi very spotty (hit or miss situation for us), shower water would be luke warm to warm but never hot (though staff did try to fix it), half door in bathtub makes it very easy for water to spill onto floors while showering, early checkout time of 9am, restaurant closes at 9:30pm and not too options to eat at outside the hotel unless you are ready to walk/ ride to the main square. Not sure if nightly rates justify but I haven't stayed anywhere else in Cusco, so I...

Read moreThis is a Wonderful hotel with definitely one of the best services we ever had. My mom, nephew and I shared a very large room with a garden view that was breathtaking. From the moment we stepped in, the staff, in particular Paloma, were phenomenal. I mistakenly booked a reservation with the Taypikala hotel in Machupicchu and she quickly switched our reservation to Cusco - no time wasted for our short and scheduled trip. She also helped us gather all the appropriate documents and introduced us to a very trustworthy and knowledgeable tour guider. She literally saved us so much time! Given our early wake up schedule (4am), the staff from Taypikala always had our breakfast prepared to-go. Although breakfast was included in our reservation, the early 4am breakfast was not. This accommodation is appreciated.
The hotel was always clean, warm and close to every local attractions. It was pretty easy to walk to the hotel from local restaurants, artesanal market, cathedral and downtown.
I would like to thank the staff from Taypikala for their...
