Viagens Machu Picchu — Local services in Distrito de Cusco

Overall Great trip..We had combined their Wonders of Peru with + ADVENTURER WITH HUMANTAY LAGOON BY SKY CAMP.. All the accommodations were great except our hotel stay in Puno Taxis are on time and bus tickets are provided as well (day before the travel) -- Private whatsapp group for day to day communication. We had a private guide for our visit to Machu Picchu (Joel) and he was an excellent guide. Great communicating in English and providing all the information. He also clicked some amazing pics. Loved the journey from Puno to Cusco via Ruta del sol. Even though the journey was with group of people (around 25 to 30 ppl) the guide (Max) made sure each one of us was comfortable. He shared some amazing stories..and was multi lingual (French, Spanish, English and many more languages!) Great experience with Salkantay trekking for our stay by the SKY Camp. The Sales team is prompt is replying. Lisette (from sales) who booked our trip answered our questions when I didnt hear from the assistance team a day before our departure from our country. The bus journey (using Cruz del Sur service) from one city to another is very comfortable. Including the overnight journey.

Just a note: This agency operates as "tour aggregator" meaning they subcontract the daily tours to other local tour companies (except for Machu Picchu). You will have different group and different tour guide every day..

There is always some scope for improvement :)

1. Although the communication over whatsapp group was in English, it was lil inconvenient getting our questions answered for some of the tours. Google translate helps! But may be english speaking assistance team will make it easier. Also the assistance team could be more responsive.

2. We weren't informed about the baggage allowance for the bus travel from one city to another (using Cruz del Sur). We had done tons of shopping in Lima (our start of the trip) and had to pay extra (for luggage) each time we travelled using the bus. I wont lie..we had loaadss of luggage..But the information could be shared with travelers in advance.

3. Some of the things could be informed in advance rather than a day before. For example, for Salkantay hike (Humantay + Sky Camp), we got a call from the guide at 7.30pm..We knew we had to carry some cash..Glad that he gave some recommendations on tips/cash..We realized we were short on cash. So we had to run to get some money from ATM (This was after a fantastic but tiring day of travel). I would suggest company to provide recommendations on amount of cash rather than just saying 'some cash' especially for Salkantay.

It was a wonderful and memorable trip for us. Thank you Viagens...

We took the 7-day Machu Picchu + Humantay Lake English tour.

The good part: Good value-for-money and they accommodated to our start date We were brought to all sights and stops as indicated Taxis arranged on arrival and departure All tickets and hotels organised Personal WhatsApp group for easy communication Some of the local guides are really awesome! The older guides have tons of experience and are multilingual. Felt really safe with them.

However, some criticism on the back office (agency) and hence 4 stars:

We were not received by a guide the night before our private Machu Picchu tour. It was past evening and we could not get support from the agency on WhatsApp. The next morning, we had to escalate our situation to a local guide who found us a replacement. There was insufficient explanation from the agency on why the original guide did not pick us up from the train station the night before. It was scary because it was late at night, we were unfamiliar with the area, and almost thought we would miss the most important part of this trip.

On 2/7 days, we were put with a Portuguese speaking group. We had to inform the guide that some of us don’t understand Portuguese. Thankfully, the guides are seasoned, professional, and multilingual so they adapted accordingly, even speaking two or three languages! However, I think the agency should have briefed the guides about the demographics of the group beforehand. Since we paid for an English speaking trip, the guide should have been aware of this before we boarded the bus.

Takeaways: This tour agency seems impressive amongst Portuguese and Spanish speaking folks. Not sure if the standard of English is on par. We had to do a lot of additional reading online (TripAdvisor, Google) about the sights we were going to beforehand. We felt so unprepared for the altitude. Coca tea and leaves are insufficient. Bring something prescribed from your local doctor back home. You will be with a different guide every day and different group of tourists every day. Do not expect a fixed group throughout. This was quite fun for us :)

Péssima experiência com a Machu Picchu Viagens – Descaso e falta de profissionalismo.

Infelizmente, tivemos uma experiência muito ruim com a Machu Picchu Viagens e queremos alertar outros viajantes para que evitem essa agência.

Fechamos um pacote para o Peru (Lima, Huaraz, Cusco, Águas Calientes e Machu Picchu) de 1 a 09/03/2025 para duas pessoas. A vendedora Lisette foi extremamente atenciosa até o momento do pagamento. Depois disso, desapareceu. Durante três dias tentamos contato e fomos completamente ignorados.

Diante da falta de resposta, buscamos ajuda com o Lucas, do escritório do Brasil, que confirmou que a agência existia e que pediria para Lisette nos contatar. Quando finalmente recebemos o retorno, ao invés de resolver o problema, Lisette nos repreendeu, dizendo que não deveríamos entrar em contato com a agência do Brasil e que os contatos deveriam ser feitos diretamente com ela, mesmo ela não respondendo.

A partir desse momento, nossa viagem foi marcada por desorganização e falta de suporte.

Nosso primeiro problema aconteceu já no início da viagem, em Lima. Havíamos pago pelo late checkout para permanecer no quarto até as 20h, conforme garantido pela agência e escrito no roteiro enviado por eles. No entanto, no dia da saída, fomos informados pelo hotel que o late checkout só ia até 18h. Tivemos que deixar o quarto duas horas antes do combinado e cancelar parte da nossa programação planejada para aquele dia, além de perder quase 2 hs tentando resolver com o hotel e com a agência. A agência respondia que estava tudo certo e o hotel falava que não estava. Um problema que poderia ter sido evitado com um mínimo de organização e honestidade.

Mas o pior ainda estava por vir. Quando chegamos a Águas Calientes às 21h45, descobrimos que as trilhas que faríamos em Machu Picchu, no dia seguinte às 07h da manhã, estavam fechadas há dois dias. A agência sabia disso e não nos avisou. Só ficamos sabendo na noite anterior ao passeio, pelo guia. Sem tempo para reagir ou buscar alternativas, acabamos fazendo apenas uma trilha das duas que pagamos. E agora a agência se recusa a reembolsar os 65 dólares que pagamos pela trilha cancelada. Sabemos que a trilha foi fechada por condições climáticas e de segurança e entendemos totalmente, mas o problema é que a agência poderia ter nos avisado antes para verificarmos e pensarmos em possibilidades e poderia ter pedido o reembolso dos ingressos. Conversamos com um funcionário em Machu Picchu e ele disse que o reembolso era possível, mas como não fomos nós que compramos os tickets a agência que teria que fazer a solicitação. A agência nos orientou a fazer outra trilha como alternativa, que também estava fechada.

Além disso, a comunicação com a agência foi péssima. Criaram um grupo no WhatsApp para suporte, mas a maioria das nossas mensagens foi ignorada. Fomos tratados com total descaso. Não recebíamos resposta ou simplesmente falavam que estava tudo resolvido, quando nada estava resolvido.

Nossa experiência com a Machu Picchu Viagens foi extremamente frustrante. Fez um sonho de viagem se transformar em lembranças ruins.

Falta profissionalismo, comprometimento e respeito ao cliente.

Após registrarmos nossa reclamação junto à agência no Brasil, fomos contatados pelo gerente da agência em Cusco, que realizou uma apuração detalhada de todos os problemas que enfrentamos durante a viagem. Ele nos forneceu explicações sobre o ocorrido, aceitou nossas sugestões de melhoria e demonstrou compromisso em corrigir falhas no atendimento.

Além disso, dentro de dois dias após o registro da reclamação, a agência efetuou o reembolso devido, demonstrando um esforço satisfatório no tratamento pós-venda. O gerente também se comprometeu a reforçar a comunicação interna para garantir que as informações sejam sempre claras e corretas, além de reorientar a equipe para evitar que situações semelhantes...
