Initial check-in went poorly as I had been hung-up on three times via international phone calls to inform them of our 15-hour flight delay. I was understandably upset. Our room was a converted something-or-other with a huge window looking into the bathroom from the bedroom. It had a huge spa tub whose jets didn't work and was otherwise unusable due to the very-low water pressure. The mildew on the carpet was horrible, leaving our bare feet and shoe bottoms black. The mildew smell was difficult to bare even with the room window open. Our room faced the adjoining building under renovation and the noise was 24/7. The super-King bed was a welcome relief from all the long-distance walking we did. The breakfast was, well, uhhhhh .......... disappointing to say the least. We had to buy cold milk at the nearby market for my cornflakes-only cereal choice as the milk provided was hot milk. No French toast or pancakes, no bananas or fresh fruit except for diced Papaya, no bacon. The OJ was OJ-flavored water. The dining room had ONE salt/pepper shaker for all to share. The cereal spoons were tiny teaspoons. The only eggs provided were scrambled eggs. On the plus side, the lone dining room worker always smiled and accommodated the patrons when possible. The extra-helpful, friendly staff were a welcomed plus as well. This property is well-located with food choices and shopping just outside the hotel. Overall, I cannot recommend this property due to the unsafe mold/mildew, low water pressure and...
Read moreThis was an awesome hotel! The area is very close to amazing restaurants. The artisans market is in front of the hotel for easy souvenir shopping. The staff at the hotel are very accommodating. I am a disabled traveler and use a wheelchair to get around. This hotel is very wheelchair friendly. Our room was very accessible with the exception on a small lip in the shower that made it a little difficult to enter. However the owner did install a hand held shower head to make it easier. We did discuss with her the possibility of removing the lip to make it totally wheelchair accessible. They serve an amazing buffet breakfast every morning with scramble eggs and different meats. Fresh sqeezed juices and sandwiches with sliced fruit.. don't know they manage this with the amazingly low room prices.|This hotel was remodeled 2 years ago and the have really made it very nice. Miraflores is a very accessible destination for a...
Read moreFirst the good. |Aside from one rude receptionist the staff was all very lovely. The rooms are a modest size but have a king bed and giant jacuzzi tub. It’s also pretty clean. ||The bad. |Had to change rooms because my first room smelled so badly of BO and mold. It wasn’t coming from the sheets though as those smelled clean. When i politely asked to change rooms the receptionist was really rude about it which I found strange. Then when I came back later there was someone else behind the desk and they were very nice. |The giant jacuzzi tub didn’t work. You could fill it with water but the bubbles don’t turn on. |Now the biggest thing. CONSTRUCTION. Loud construction literally outside your window which is almost next to your head every morning starting at 7. Photo attached.. Why on earth no one would mention this when you’re booking the room is beyond me. They should have closed during construction or had their crews start at 9. |||Maybe in two years it’ll be done and nice. I won’t be returning or...
