It is the second time we stay in an Ibis property in Miraflores, the first time we stayed in Ibis Reducto, which was not as nice as Ibis Larco. Room was nice, bathroom had good water pressure, bed was comfortable. Location was a plus since Larcomar is within a walking distance. Personnel was all right, not super friendly but neither rude, just there to do their job and not anything beyond that.
My biggest issue was breakfast, the only meal every guest will have at the hotel since not all guests will have lunch or dinner at the facilities. We stayed 5 nights, and I cannot say one time breakfast wasn't packed and staff wasn't lacking. Not one time our table was cleaned, contrary to other tables, but this seems to be a common issue in Ibis properties, in Reducto we experienced the same and honestly, I felt like an outcast. Why didn’t personnel clean our table but cleaned other tables? I'm starting to think it's an ageism or classism thing since I'm Peruvian. Also, breakfast options are all right, better than Reducto, but if you stay more than 2 nights you will get tired of the little variety they offer from one day to another, we actually didn't get breakfast 2 out of the 5 nights we stayed because the thought of going to a packed, noisy area where we were going to linger on a dirty table and make a queue for unexciting food options it was nothing more far away from relaxing, and that's not how we wanted to feel on our vacation.
To end this review on a good note, the reservations agent Karen Castro was helpful and replied fast to our communication we had via email, au contraire to the agents in charge to reply to the WhatsApp messages. I saw a promotion on Instagram and texted the WhatsApp number that appeared on the ad, which is also the number on the key card holder for any requests, this was on September 9th and as October 9th I haven't...
Read moreWe were sent here at 4 a.m. by Delta Airlines because they cancelled our flight. I was in room 1453. After getting to the room and realizing there was no fridge (seriously? C'mon man!) I just went to bed. I was exhausted after dealing with Delta. At 7 a.m. there was a loud knocking on everyone's door in the area on that floor. I just let it go because I was just rudely awoken and knew no one would be looking for me. Because I didn't answer someone used a key and walked into the room. I told them to get the f out as they were asking for "Ms. Bay" or something. Upon further reflection of this I thank God we weren't in the USA. I exercise my rights in the US and this would not have ended well. What kind of hotel does this??? Just barge into someone's room at 7 am?||I couldn't sleep any more so I got up and checked on the breakfast. It was a pretty good spread, lots of options. While down there I spoke to the Taxi stand just inside the door of the hotel and booked my ride back to the airport for 8 p.m. with high hopes of leaving Peru. The area of Miraflores is quite nice with the Larco Mar mall just a 2-block walk. There's a small market just out the door to the left where you can get water and toothpaste, things I needed. To the right is Larco Mar. ||The TV is tiny and the volume even at its highest level is very low, but I get it since the walls here are very thin between rooms. Elevator is fast, room appeared clean, wifi is solid, employees seem pretty good. Not sure I would stay here again as I saw more familiar hotels I would prefer in the neighborhood, but aside from the things mentioned above, it...
Read moreMy stay at ibis larco was part of an experience we had as a group after being denied boarding by Airfrance due to a cancelled flight.
The facilities were very good, everything was thoroughly cleaned and the housekeeping service was more than perfect, although they didn't refill toilet paper and had to do it myself. The hairdryer of my room didn't work, but had a safety feature to stop it from going on fire (I guess)
Our stay was provided to give us the possibility to sleep when we didn't plan to spend more time in the city, therefore everyone was very grateful of the welcoming attitude of the staff and the good area we were in.
A lot of pros, including -comfy facilities -air conditikning -warm shower -lockable storage for valuables -wardrobe -tv -good views from the higher floors -friendly staff -good breakfast offering plenty of options for different needs (vegetarian, vegan, halal, lactose free, etc.) -we were offered late check out
Unfortunately there is a series of issues, probably caused by the unexpected arrival of such a load of people (some of them quite upset): -We didn't receive all the fundamental informations at our arrival, and had to fetch them around our stay (laundry service times and availability, meals time, water was not included in the stay) -no one took our food allergies or preferences, nor we had any choice on the food served. Consulting the website it seems the regular kitchen service offered some good options but what I received made me kind of uninterested in trying. -I overall would recommend the place, although it is a...
