This hotel is beautiful. The rooms are large and recently done. They were clean and the beds were comfy. The host was very nice, and has many years of touring Machu Picchu under his belt. He is happy to show you were all the good place are to eat, and help out in any way. For those that do not know the work Pico actually means peak, because your rooms are located away from the busy bus station, up on the mountain side. It is a walk to get there! It is located in the less touristy part of town, and I enjoyed seeing the locals play and eat. It was defiantly quite up there, except for the rooster next door, bring ear plugs if you're a light sleeper. We ended up finishing our tour of Machu Picchu earlier then expected because of Covid restrictions (they only let you go one way, and you can not reenter after finishing the circuit) and the hotel was so kind and let us hang out in their lobby for a couple of hours until our train left. Read morePico's place was the perfect place to stay on our trip to Machu Picchu. We travelled in Peru for over two weeks and didn't find a place that even compared. Carlos, the owner, takes great pride in the cleanliness of his home as well as the comfort of his guests. The beds were so comfortable and the linens fresh and crisp. The view from the house was amazing and you could see all of Augas Calientes. It was truly amazing. The real value though came with the "local knowledge" that was offered by Carlos. He not only told us where the great places were to eat or shop but would actually accompany us into town and show us where they were. We felt so safe and well cared for during our stay. I would HIGHLY RECCOMMEND Pico's house to anyone considering a stay in Aguas Calientes....
Read moreWe had a wonderful stay. Carlos, the owner, went above and beyond to make sure all of our needs were met. The hostel is located no more than 5 minutes from the train station. You have to walk past the less touristy part of town but it was good because you get to see the soccer stadium, the theater and the places where the locals eat (way more affordable, and as delicious as more expensive places).||The hostel is very clean and modern. Someone complained about the rooster crowing, but personally, I found it very interesting as it reminded us to get ready for our trek to Macchu Pichu. ||The hostel is 10 minutes close to the thermal Waters in Aguas Calientes, hence the previous name of the town, and it is close to almost everything. We really...
