HOSPEDAJE WELCOME PARACAS PERU — Hotel in Paracas

SCAM ALERT. AVOID THE PLACE.

I was scammed by this place via Booking. They asked booking for my card details (although payment was set to be on arrival) and charged me "by accident" 200 soles and 2000 soles. I had to terminate this card as bank said it might be a fraudulent merchant. My bank raised a claim to get money back.

They told me it's a "system error." It wouldn't be an issue if they returned the money on the next business day or so. But they're agressive and unprofessional and playing a victim and of course never sharing any details when this money will be back on my account.

So if you want to avoid going to police, being constantly in touch with bank, Booking customer service and wasting time on scammers, I recommend staying away from this place.

As I noticed now, it's the second review here on Google maps that states they're simply a dishonest business.

Unfortunately had the same experience as some of the others here. Had a good stay, rooms are basic but ok, breakfast is good with fresh fruits and snacks, the owner is a very nice guy. Unfortunately, in our last night a big party was celebrated in the basement. The owner suggested to move to the building next door which was nice but didn’t change much on the noise as the room has open holes in the wall so the noise was essentially the same. Party went till 4 or 5 with extreme noise so that not even earplugs were helping. I don’t mind them having a party but I felt there was not the slightest bit of respect to the guests trying to sleep. If I would have been told earlier I would have moved to another hostel at least...

Honestly... I thought the great reviews of this place were a bit misleasing. The boy who did the receptions was incredibly nice. We were able to comminicate in our little bit of Spanish that we spoke. But the room... We booked through Booking.com where it was stated that we had an 'extra large 2 person bed'. The bed was 120 x 200m. So it Holland we don't even call that a 2 person bed. The bathroom had a hole in the wall for ventilation. The curtains are transparant and there is a bar downstairs which was, thank God, not open on the days we were there. But with windows that couldn't close, I would not have want to stay there when it actually is open. The...
