Karamba Resto-Bar — Restaurant in Paracas

A real pleasure to have an early dinner or late lunch - however you want to call it. Louis speaks a real good English and was such a great server. Letting us taste the beer and helping us to choose our food. Really enjoyed the vibe in this restaurant. Really great music (somewhat seventies music) and food. The potatoes roasted in their skin were much better than the usual fries. We shared a ceviche to start with and had lomo saltado and a grilled fish as a main. The ceviche was excellent and the fish was well seasoned. The lomo saltado was also well seasoned, but some of the meat was a bit chewy. All in all reasonable priced (ceviche for 30 Soles, lomo saltado for 35 and the grilled fish for 40 Soles, 2 pint of draft beer for 20 soles during happy hour). Almost a 4 star but not quite. This restaurant has a friendly and attentive waitress. I believe what makes this place popular is that the portions are on the larger side and the food is better than okay, but not that good. I had something that reminded me of Chinese noodle stir fry vegetables with some seafood bits. Also had a 4 dish variety with deep fried squid this was served hot and like any batter fried thing was very tasty. Also had a mashed potato dish with what I thought was canned tuna and mayo on the inside, fried rice and ceviche with soft, floppy fish. A lot of food for a very reasonable price. Beto is the best server and Luis is a close second :) Both of our meals were incredible. We had the menu del dia with two separate options. I had the chicken soup (yummy) with the chicharon de pollo (extra yummy) with perfect rice which sure tasted like Basmati. My companion had the conches de Parmesano and chicharon de pescado. He bestowed great praise on his meal as he was consuming it and relaxing between bites while sipping our pisco sours. Great value for the price.
