I rented a scooter here to drive it around the Paracas reserve. The scooter stopped working after just 30 minutes. They tried to charge me 50 soles for assisting me with a scooter exchange in the Paracas peninsula. After defending my case, they agreed to assist me for free. Their assistance service was great, I must confess: in 40 minutes they delivered a new scooter. However, the 2nd scooter also stopped working after 30 minutes of using it. That time, the breakdown happened in front of a restaurant, so had time to eat while they delivered a 3rd scooter to assist me. The 3rd and last scooter only worked 10 minutes and then died. All 3 scooters had issues that were quite similar: the acceleration throttle failed and it was either impossible to accelerate or the engine power wouldn't get transmitted to the rear wheel. All and all, I lost a couple hours with these scooter mechanical issues, and honestly it negatively impacted my experience of visiting the reserve. While I understand the challenge of maintaining scooters with the very bumpy and sandy roads of the Paracas reserve, I felt very disappointing to experience a total of three scooter breakdown in just one afternoon. I'd like to add that I have rented scooters in many countries in the past, without ever experiencing any breakdown. It happens. But if it happens three times, then there is definitely an issue with the service provider. The only reason I left two stars instead of one is because their assistance service was helpful and responsive. Just so you are aware: there are several areas in the reserve without any cell phone coverage. Had the breakdown happened in one of these areas, I would have had no way of contacting...
Read moreI usually do not write google reviews, but my terrible experience with this company is appalling and disappointing that I cannot leave without leaving a review.
We were traveling at almost close to stopping speed when we crossed a hump (literally only 10 mins into our journey) when a part of the motorbike came out. This shows that the bike was not in good condition and it was not something we could have spotted visibly during the bike check because we wouldn’t be able to see that the (fallen) part was not properly intact.
We immediately returned back to the shop, but the manager accused us for speeding which is why the parts had came out. I find this ridiculous and manipulative because they did not take ownership of their poor conditioned bike but instead turned it around to accuse us. Of course we were going to be angry, but he instigated that we were angry because we were guilty. And wanted to go to the police to resolve this dispute.
The entire time, the employee was filming us which will obviously portray a very skewed picture of us. My only regret is not filming back and taking pictures of all the evidence of the bike / fallen part.
Although we got our money back, this injustice makes me so furious. The company can reply to whatever they try to make themselves look better, but you reading the review can decide for yourself if you want to take this risk with this dishonest, accusive and poor...
Read moreProbaply the worst organization of a tour that I have experienced so far. So far every employee of Playa Rosa Tours made us feel very disrespected. We did the sand boarding at the Oasis and on the way back they totally forgot us, lied to us then, that someone is going to arrive in 5 minutes which turned out to be an hour, left us alone waiting and got picked up by a random woman that didn't seem to belong to Playa Tours and was occasionally driving back to Paracas. During the Drive in her car we didn't feel safe at all and I dont know why but sometimes she ended up driving on the other side of the road. Best of it is after telling playa tours about our experience, they gave us only 60 of the 270 Soles back in total and lied to us that their kids won't have something to eat if they give us back the full money. Of course we dont know if this is 100% true or not but it felt very odd and this is nothing you shouldnt say to an unhappy customer who you forgot somewhere in the desert. All in all I really cant recommend. Go to a different agency or drive on your own to the oasis in the desert. The experience itself is fun and the nature is beautiful. Just be sure that the people of Playa Tours dont really care about you and for them it is all...
