Wow, what an incredible dining experience at Pukasoncco! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a cozy decor that immediately made me feel at home. But the real star of the show was the food - every dish was expertly prepared and bursting with flavor. I tried the signature Pukasoncco specialty and was blown away by the complexity of spices and textures. The service was also top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff who made sure every need was met. Overall, a truly exceptional meal that left me feeling full and happy. Can't wait to come back and try more of the menu! 5 stars without a doubt 🤩🍴
And then the experience got funny after an English couple came in, sat down, and waited (because our chef, the only person working there, was busy preparing our food), and decided to leave. The English female walked out pist and slammed the front door when there was a sign on the door saying "please be gentle with door"! Lmao...
The English boyfriend was polite but his girlfriend was rude! This is the audacity of foreign tourists being unhappy always and walking out with a tantrum!
We laughed at the entire scene! Anyway, the head chef and art master is amazing! Please...
Read moreWe ordered ceviche and chicharron (as supposedly Paracas is known for great fish), and that was a disappointment. For 60 soles per person, you get a small/medium portion of barely cut fish with bones. 😟 The owner tells you that they also ran out of corn (only when the dish is being served, not during the order). And as an icing on a cake, they tell you that the card reader stopped working so in spite of all the Visa stickers all over the entrance you are expected to have cash. We tried ceviche in Lima, Piura, and Iquitos. This was the worst of those experiences. For comparison, the most delicious ceviche in the centre of Miraflores in Lima with both fish and octopus cost us 55 soles, with bigger portions, with plantain chips, corn, etc. Maybe its the fact that we don’t speak Spanish?.. Not sure what else could have affected our experience in this so highly rated place. The mango juice was very good though - that’s the only reason for 2* instead...
Read moreSuch a lovely, intimate experience. At first, you'll enter through the garden and probably think you're in the wrong place but you'll see Samson working in the kitchen in what appears to be his home. The breezy dining room down the hall has 2 small tables for 2. If you're open to suggestions he'll gladly share some with you. I hadn't had ceviche since my arrival in Peru so I opted for the most popular (ceviche de lenguado). It's citrusy and spicy, served with a side of sweet potato. It's intense in flavor so I do wish it came with another starchy base to offset it. I also had a pisco sour which went down smooth and tasted lovely.
Don't rush because he'll remind you to slow down and enjoy! It's a beach city so the pace is slower. Prices also seem to be a bit more expensive (about $12/13 US for the ceviche) in Paracas. Overall, a great experience if you're looking for something off the strip (you might even get a glimpse of his...
