Intiqa Hotel — Hotel in Puno

Perfect location + price / Friendly staff ! Stayed 2 nights at the Intiqa Hotel in January 2013. I choose that hotel after viewing the good reviews on a popular hotel review website. My familly and I were not disappointed with our choice. The hotel is located right downtown Puno, a block away from Lima street (pedestrian street) and about 5 minutes from la Plaza de Armas. The price to stay here was very reasonable + including a good breakfast buffet. The staff was kind and friendly. Free wifi. When we arrived mi-January, there was the beginning of the Celebrations of la Fiesta de la Candelaria. Traditional peruvian music bands and dancers performing on Lima street, amazing experience. If you come to Puno, you should come during this periode of the year. They also can organise tours via a company that comes to pick you up at the hotel for the Titicaca Lake / Taquile island and as well Sillustani, a pre-Incan archaeology site, worth the visit. What I didn't like: although the sheets and comforter were/appeared clean, I spotted several strands of hair on them :( bad plumbing - water would be ice cold/steaming hot depending on how many are using the shower and/or flushing the toilet at the time Cold, seriously.... small little tiny radiator for the nice spacious room Internet was a miss in my room, had to go out in the halls

Marcelo at the front desk in the evenings was such a friendly and helpful person. When I checked in I was very sick to my stomach. I had lunch and it did not agree with me. He brought me up some tea and helped me with my luggage. Very nice to talk to and willing to help out in anyway. I don’t care where you live or what country your from that is a hard to find. However, if you do stay at this hotel try to not get a room that’s facing the street. It was so loud during the night I could not sleep. Overall rooms are...
