Kandi Palace (Kandi Realty) — Hotel in Angeles

So Kandi gave me the instructions to reserve for a month using international remittance. One option is my bank. Thus began the tortuous and tortuous experience that is now the worst experience I've had with any hotel in the world.||||When I sent the money, and then asked to confirm that it was received, I received several emails none of which were clear and were in broken English. Just in case, I sent the information again, and I saw that the deposit had been accepted on their end.||||Suddenly, I recieved an email saying that the previous price had changed. I sent several emails asking how this could be given they had already taken my money.||||They said it had not been received, there was no reservation and denied that the money was deposited. They said to call my bank. My bank confirmed that the money was deposited , that this sort of thing happened a lot and that they would open an investigation and notify the Rcmp pending the outcome (I'm Canadian). They did say this might be a good time to consider another hotel given that this had happened before and there was no guarantee that the hotel would cooperate or that local authorities would indeed help. They told me I would likely get the money back but it could take a while since we were depending on the hotel to cooperate and they had t tried to find the where the money went to this point.||||I emailed Kandi, told them they had the money, there would be an investigation and local authorities would be contacted.||||Silence.||||So I'm days away from arriving now and there is no reservation and Kandi is not responding.||||If you are visiting from another country, do not send money to Kandi unless you do not care whether they recieve it or whether you will ever get it back.||||It seems that someone at Kandi pocketed the money and Kandi doesn't really do anything about that.||||I will be posting this elsewhere, so forgive me if you've already read this. I stayed here twice last year albeit thru Airbnb and booked 3 rooms each time for colleagues who travelled with me.||We all found the hotel great value for money ,all studios were clean and comfortable, although you should remember booking thru Airbnb you do not get the Full Hotel Service e.g room clean or bed linen changes or Shower Gel etc,so just make sure you read the small print, assistance was available from our hosts if necessary if we required any of these services.Rooms had decent soundproofing with a stable wifi connection and had lovely large balconies complete with furniture.||The staff were very professional and friendly within the hotel,the pool itself was clean and practical and on the top floor.||The Top floor bar/restaurant offered great views and service in a very comfortable environment, the ground floor bar/restaurant again offered great service in an air conditioned environment.|Prices were reasonable and the quality of food and drinks were above my expectations.||Security at the hotel in my opinion was very good and I felt safe.||Location was excellent a gentle 10 minute walk to the bars,around the hotel there were laundry shops ,grocery and bottle stores as well as a number of street vendors.||Overall we all enjoyed our stays and look forward...

I really should have given a 5 but there were a couple of unexpected things. The place itself is very well run organised and maintained. I have now stayed in a one bed and a studio and both were very very good. Nicely furnished and comfortable for sure and at a reasonable price. You basically pay for what you get. I was probably expecting more by comparison on the basic items with the unit such as pots pans and so on. All basic cutlery is supplied but i think its the basics that you expect to be included like hotel shampoo and so on. Items you just take for granted but on our 2nd visit we take with us. My only real complaint if any would be bed was very hard and only one set of pillows. But all down to personal preference. The roof top has a really nice pool, Great restaurant with a large eating area in and outside and pool table all very well maintaned with great views. Its kinda home from home and found it very relaxing and welcoming. All staff are very nice people. The arrival and departure takes a while due to inventory check.
