Our Bantayan adventure began here — our first home for the night in our three-day, two-night island tour. We arrived around 2 p.m., tired from the boat ride yet instantly embraced by the island’s calm. The room was already prepared — a small but joyful win — and though the road from the pier ends in a short dirt path that turns muddy when it rains, that’s just part of the island charm.
The resort’s ambiance is simple yet comforting. What truly made the experience memorable was the staff — especially the night guard, who easily deserves a lifetime award. He wasn’t just the guard; he doubled as the store clerk, caretaker, and friendly presence throughout the night. His warmth and attentiveness were beyond expectations.
They have a small canteen that sells the basics — bottled water, snacks, soap, toothpaste, and even a few cooked dishes. We didn’t get to try their meals since we booked through Agoda (which, apparently, excluded the “free” breakfast — ironic, right?). Still, it didn’t spoil the stay.
Our room was painted green — a soothing tone that made it feel instantly relaxing. It had a beautiful garden view, which added to the serenity of the place. The bed was soft, the sleep deep and rejuvenating. There’s no cable, but the Smart TV lets you watch YouTube or Netflix (if you’re okay logging in with your own account). The Wi-Fi, however, was a bit of a treasure hunt — three different networks, and only one works best depending on your phone.
The beach is just a short walk away, lined with nipa cottages and benches that invite you to sit back and do absolutely nothing — which is exactly the point.
What this place lacks in modern amenities, it makes up for with soul. Cebu City might drain your energy with its noise and pace, but this resort quietly gives it back — through friendly people, sea breeze, and a room that feels like home. Even small touches like the outdoor faucet to wash off sand, or the front porch with a table in the garden, make it feel refreshingly personal.
It’s not luxurious, but it’s genuine — the kind of stay that reminds you rest isn’t about grandeur, it’s...
Read moreWe arrive in Bantayan Island without knowing where to stay and we tried visiting all the beach resort to check the best but affordable accomodation. We found this place the Northville Beach resort. At the entrance you could feel already the excellent atmosphere and the environment is so very accomodating which you could see lots of green trees plus a big aquarium with Koi Fish. Then the room is so clean like a 5 star hotel. They have a restaurant which is elevated from the sand with the sound of sea shell curtains. At the beach front has lots of beach chairs and nipa hut which you can relax with a nice and clean front of the beach. And what I like most is the friendliness of the staff. I’ve stayed for 4 days and I noticed that they have everyday training on how to serve better to their guest. I really feel that I am in a 5 star hotel. Thank you Northville for my wonderfull vacation. A very very highly recommended...
