I'd like to start by mentioning that my two-star rating excludes my experience with the staff of this hotel. I had absolutely no issues with them and found them very professional.
I also want to add an additional disclaimer that I did NOT complain or express my issues to the staff. Therefore, this review does not contain what their responses would be to these issues.
The room:
The room looked fine at first glance, and I personally enjoyed the closet space. The disposable slippers were also appreciated.
My issues started when I made a beeline for the bathroom. There were huge rust stains where I assume door stoppers used to be. All water fixtures (faucets, showerheads, etc) were caked in limescale and hard water stains. Of course, this meant that the showerhead was partially clogged. These should not be impossible to clean, especially for a hotel that cleans its rooms a few times a week.
The faucet was no longer attached to the sink, so you had to be careful and hold the spout down to avoid yanking the whole thing off. The water flow felt like an old man trying to cough up his last few words, and I didn’t realize this until day two, but the sink drain was leaking and splashing onto my foot whenever I used the sink.
The towels were a little rough but very absorbent, so it never took too long to dry off, but one of them had rust stains on it. Unfortunately, I am short and couldn’t really confirm whether the stain was set on the towel or if the towel rack was rusty.
Please do note that they offer shampoo, soap, and lotion, but not conditioner. So if you can’t live without it, you do have to pack your own OR buy one in the city.
The bed itself was comfortable, but the rust stains return once again. It was fairly small but still annoying to see against white sheets. The pillows themselves were fine. The room had snacks and some drinks, but no information (sheet of paper/signage) was given on whether these were free or if there was a price tag attached to them. Oh yeah, there’s no hairdryer in this hotel. Normally, this isn’t an issue for me, but the hairdryer I travel with was not working (voltage issues, maybe).
The AC unit was probably the worst thing about this room. I think I would have done better with a tower fan. Even on the lowest setting, it was still hot. Since it never cooled the room down, I only ever used it as a lukewarm fan. The only way not to sweat was to sit on the bed with the AC facing you. Of course, this meant that if you were moving around the room, you had to be prepared to sweat. One of the surprising parts is that the hallway outside was genuinely cooler than my room, even after leaving the AC running while I ate breakfast.
Breakfast:
The breakfast buffet itself was fine and probably the only good part of this review. I was only there for two nights, but it does seem like they have a rotating menu for hot food. It is a Filipino-style breakfast, so expect it to feel more like lunch with rice and various meats being offered. There is bread and a salad bar if you’d prefer that. Cereal was also offered, but I couldn’t really find a bowl. I’m still wondering if I may have missed it somewhere. The hot chocolate was my favorite. I had it on both days, and the taste was consistent. It went really well with the Puto Maya that was offered beside it.
Location:
You could walk to the mall and a few food spots in a few minutes. Just note that sidewalks do not always exist, and you may need to walk on the road every now and again. There is a 7/11 around the block, and there’s a bakery across the street from it as well. You shouldn’t have any issue finding this hotel or having food...
Read moreI am Cullen Silver from USA 🇺🇸, . I stayed at this hotel from jan 29 to feb1 - 2 days. At first they make it seem like comfortable 3 star hotel until end before check out you see they will chest you out of Money for fake fees. I asked them to clean my room the next day. They clean everything but ,didn't change bed cover leaving it not made up . They next day when I was checking out of hotel she yelled load on purpose in front of a lobby full of people I am charge you for having stains on covers ,brown stains. Everyone started looking at me fanny. They I found out they charge 2,865 pesos which is $52.00 USA money for sheets they would not change and it turn out they stain that cost me 2,865 pesos was only a drop of coffee from my morning coffee. Not even a full coffee still but , I drop from a 6 oz cup which we know will was out in laudry. They they charge me 650 mo pesos for drinking water, soda and a beer out of the minnie refreigerater. The only problem with that is you told me at check It was included which I believe because you didn't give a price list list like other hotel. They kept my deposit of 2000 peso and wouldn't give it back. So I got cheated out of 2865 sheets coffee stain plus another 675 water, soda and beer plus kepy my 2000 deposit. Very bad business to take advantage of travel from other countries. I have travel several countries and had never experience this level of ripoff at a hotel. Be careful of this place . Don't drink or eat in the bed it will cost you big time. Don't touch freight without getting prices because they will run prices up. To all travelers Don't stay somewhere you cant eat or drink while watching tv in bed because they will make you pay big time for it. From Cullen silver USA Stay hotel Jan 29 to feb1. 2024 Today...
Read moreThis is my first time leaving a negative review during my travels, mainly hoping that this message will be helpful to those considering staying here.
Room issues: The sink initially didn't drain, and after calling maintenance, they used a tool similar to a screwdriver to forcefully push the clog down. No foot mat provided in the bathroom, and when requested, it was delivered very dirty, probably supposed to be white... I dare not step on it (see attached image). No view outside the window, and the window itself was very dirty(see attached image). Poor room layout, with the air conditioning blowing directly onto the head (see attached image). Blood stains on the quilt (see attached image). Constant water sounds from the bathroom at night, poor soundproofing affecting sleep quality.
Other issues: Upon check-in, the staff failed to provide any information, even the basic breakfast time required us to inquire. Only one room key card provided for a double occupancy room. The elevator lacks air conditioning, making it feel like an oven during summer.
I understand that the price for one night is not high, so I didn’t have high expectations. However, I believe certain issues should not have occurred. This is the first time I’ve had to contact housekeeping multiple times to address problems during a stay. The only positive point is that housekeeping responds promptly. Overall, this still affected my first...
