This restaurant is named House of Lechon, and it definitely lives up to its name.
First order of business, err meal, should be Cebu Lechon. We didn't order a lot; just the 1/4 kilo for sharing. The Special Carcar Le honey was tasty and savory, and the skin was still very crisp and has a good crunch in it. They included a small amount of drippings that's a little on the salty side but if used sparingly makes the lechon more appetizing. The rice was cooked well, and served in small kaldero (reminded me of the time when I would cook rice during my childhood and end up burning the base, haha). Don't make a mistake of ordering the calamares if you still want to taste the squid. The turon could have been better without the caramelized sugar, but I believe it's for the presentation, so let it be.
The interiors are good, resembles a house and has Filipino touches to their Christmas decoration. They have an aircon and Al fresco dining areas too. Servers are attentive, courteous, and polite, esp. Ate Coline and Ate Ermie, and the manager checks on each table in the middle of the meal to ensure the quality of the food and dining experience.
Everything on the menu was on the pricey side, FYI, but the lechon was well worth it. Come before lunch (make it an early lunch at 10am) because the place became packed with less than an hour we're here. Overall, a good dining experience.
Was it a good try? DEFINITELY. Will I come back again? When I miss lechon or when I come...
Read moreMy Honest Feedback About House of Lechon’s Online Reservation Service
I’ve already dined at House of Lechon twice with my friends and loved ones, and I have to say the food is amazing, the staff is very accommodating, and the service is fast. I always recommend this place because of those good experiences.
But this afternoon, I was really disappointed.
I tried to make an online reservation through the contact numbers listed on your website, Facebook, Instagram, and even Google Maps but none of them worked. Either the numbers were out of coverage or just completely unreachable. I also messaged on social media and through your website, but got no response at all.
I was expecting a smooth and easy reservation process online—especially since many customers rely on digital platforms now. Sadly, that didn’t happen. It was frustrating and disappointing, especially because I wanted everything to be ready when we arrived, just like how it should be with a proper reservation system.
We genuinely love your food and the in-house service is great—but your online customer service and reservation process really needs improvement. Today’s experience honestly changed the way I feel about recommending your restaurant to others.
I’m still thankful for the good food and friendly staff, but I really hope the management takes this seriously and improves the online communication channels. Customers deserve a seamless and responsive experience,...
Read moreTucked away on a quiet neighbourhood side street, ( Acacia St.) adjacent to heavily travelled Gorodoro Avenue is the House of Lechon. From the outside, the restaurant does not look like anything special. It appears as a long ranch style building without any exterior decor other than the business sign. Upon entering, everything changes. The first thing you see on the right is the freshly prepared Lechon. A beautiful and consistent golden-malt brown skin from top to bottom. Every order is prepared at this particular station whether it is take-out or dine- in. Filipinos love the crispiness of the skin, and this lechon passes the test easily. Whether you are, or are not a fan of pork meat, the succulent moistness of the meat will satisfy the most discerning fan of lechon, and quite possibly convert those that were not already fans of pork. As you leave this station and the take-out area, the left side of the restaurant is the dine-in section. Decor is modest with ample seating, and the restaurant is clean. Customer service is very good. Cebuanos take great pride in preparing lechon, and every good chef, restaurant and even barangay boast on how good their lechon is compared to everyone else. The House of Lechon is definitely worth visiting. The meat is succulent, the skin is crispy to a beautiful golden brown, and definitely not salty. The sauce on the side is salty if you desire to compliment the pork meat that way. ...
