My partner and I stayed here for four nights, and overall we were very happy. Below the positives and areas for improvement:
Pros: Staff were great, especially RJ. They booked our tours and lunches with a great island hopping company. They also gave us vouchers for a great coffee place down in the centre that they partner with. Coffee was really good there. (Grounded). The bathroom in the room was a good size, and it was clean and modern. The A/C was really good and the beds comfy, and not hard! The location is out of the hustle nd bustle of the centre, but we liked this. Some people may not like the idea of a 10 minute walk to the centre/beach. Water jug for the room can be easily refilled with clean filtered water from the water dispensers on each floor.
Cons: No elevator, which was a bit strange for a modern boutique hotel. We stayed in a similar place in Coron and they had an elevator. There is no restaurant/breakfast area or option, so you always need to eat outside. It would be nice if they had the option, but I guess it was a decision they made not to. The big disappointment was the rooftop bar area. It was clearly designed to be a bar and lounging area for guests, but is now pretty much abandoned. I don’t know why that is the case, as it would be a lovely plus for the hotel and guests would use it for sure! Finally, though the hotel provides an airport pick up/drop off service, it does not offer this for the arrivals like us at the seaport. We were left to haggle with TikTok drivers who were ripping everyone off with their cartel behaviour and prices. The hotel should really provide...
Read moreMy recent stay at J Boutique Hotel in El Nido was nothing short of wonderful. This cozy gem, strategically nestled near the bus station and the heart of El Nido, offers more than just a convenient location.
The rooms at J Boutique Hotel are not only comfortable but also exude a welcoming ambiance. The cozy atmosphere added an extra layer of relaxation to my stay. It was a delight to retire to a well-maintained, pleasant room after a day of exploring El Nido.
What truly set this hotel apart was the exceptional hospitality and kindness of the staff, particularly Jonielyn. Their warmth and attentiveness were remarkable. They went above and beyond to ensure our comfort, even allowing us to use the shower facilities after we had checked out. This gesture was incredibly considerate, especially after a day of island hopping when we needed to freshen up before catching a bus to Puerto Princesa.
The hotel's commitment to guest satisfaction was evident in every aspect of our stay. Clean and cozy rooms coupled with outstanding customer service make J Boutique Hotel a standout choice for anyone visiting El Nido.
In conclusion, my experience at J Boutique Hotel was exceptional, largely thanks to the graciousness of the staff and the hotel's prime location. I highly recommend this hotel to travelers seeking a comfortable stay with a touch of warmth and convenience in the heart of El Nido. I look forward to returning and experiencing their exceptional...
Read moreSummary: Awesome staff, great AC and clean rooms, but a bad place to lounge.
The staff was super helpful. All tours can be booked at no extra cost from the reception desk. They picked me up from the airport and dropped me off which was so nice. + they gave free vouchers for a beautiful coffee shop downtown. The room is clean, but small. I was in the bunk bed room with no windows. It's like a clean cave because it's dark and also has no chair to sit. I slept great here because it was quiet and cool. The bathroom/shower is clean and works well.
The only two problems with this place is that 1. there is no place to lounge and 2 it's a bit far from the beach. I came on bad weather days which meant no tours were happening. There is no lounge area in this entire hotel. There are two love seats by reception, but that's it. They haven't developed the roof yet, but they plan to serve breakfast there one day. There was no chair in the room so I literally had to lay on my bed or go somewhere else. I ended up in lots of cafes / restaurants those days. The other problem is that it's about a 9 minute walk from the beach. You can hire a tricycle driver for 100 PHP, but it's a bit annoying to get there. There are a couple of cheap restaurants just next door, but most of them are in the downtown area.
In summary, this is a great hotel if you are only going to use it for sleeping. (That was my plan until the weather...
