-Affordable!||-SUPER clean! Ate Gang, who does the cleaning, is also very nice and friendly!||-Spacious||-outside our room were bamboo trees, so we never even used the A/C as our room was cool all day long. ||-Child-friendly. There's an ample space where the kids can play under the shade of the trees. The owner, Bunsoy, has a huge doberman, Reef, who isn't leashed. Reef and Mogu (the other dog) are super duper friendly, tame, well-trained and well-behaved. I have always been scared of dogs but I never had problems with the two. My 3yo son enjoyed playing with them and the dogs never bothered us.||-The design of the entire property is lovely and we salute the owner, Bunsoy, for managing and designing it very well. I love the balcony where you can chill on the hammock or on the wooden couch. The kitchen has all you need and is always clean, too! There are only 5 rooms in this property so it's never crowded. There are a lot of plants, but mosquitoes were never a problem||-hot/cold shower ||-wifi||-no TV which is NOT A PROBLEM but i thought some of you might want to know this. You won’t need a TV when you’re in a paradise like Siargao||1 min walk to the beach. You need to ride a bike to get to Cloud 9 (surfing spot) or to General Luna (where the wet market is). There is not a single sari-sari or convenience store near this property so you have to make sure you get all you need in one trip to Gen. Luna to save gas, or fare (if you do not want to...
Read moreAs soon as I walked in to Matanjak, I felt at home. Bunsoy, the resort owner, greeted me as the transport van parked and showed me to the room. The resort is cozy, with five rooms, and a central kitchen. The kitchen is equipped with basic cooking needs, self-service filtered water, and some fruits were always out for sharing. ||||The rooms themselves are simple. I had a comfortable queen sized bed. The bathroom had hot water. Each room had a balcony with a lounging couch and a hammock hanging. It was a wonderfully relaxed resort. The resort is nestled between two other resorts, and is probably at the halfway point between the main town of General Luna and the famous surfing spot of Cloud 9. I found the location to be convenient, as I also had use of a motorbike while there to get me from place to place.||||Because of the size of the space, it really is conducive to getting to know the fellow travellers. My last night there was especially nice as some of us got together with Bunsoy as he grilled some fish and veggies bought by guests and we all had an island style family meal together. All in all, I really loved this place and my experience there and would...

We made a reservation for a room at Airbnb 2 weeks in advance. When we arrived they gave us a different room than we actually booked. It turned out they gave our actual room to someone else.
They didn't tell us about it and even when they handed us the keys they weren't saying anything.
The room they gave us was way smaller, didn't have a TV, no tea and coffee self service and so on. It was overall worse than the room we actually booked. The price wouldn't change, but we did already pay anyway.
It put us in a very bad place since we weren't fine with the room they gave us but there weren't many other places left in Siargao to book last minute. They just told us it's on us, we can take it or leave. They offered no help to find something different.
After this we wanted the full refund but it took days for them to give us the refund. In the end I had to threaten them with calling the police and explained to them how to arrange the refund at Airbnb.
We had a hard time finding a different accomodation on Siargao. We feel scammed and can't recommend going there.
Beside this, the places itself looked on pictures...
