Yes, it was inexpensive but it was a terrible place. Nothing worked as the hotel - 34 stories tall - was under renovation. Only 1 elevator worked and the TV didn't work. Everything was extra - extra pillow as 20 pesos, towel 20 or 30 pesos, bed sheet, blanket, etc. EVERYTHING was extra and it was in a "red light district" so the charge was cheap. I wanted a room near the airport so it was about 20 minutes away and there were better places near by. Big mistake On my part and I forgot my rules: never stay at a place that rents rooms by the hour or a place that uses plastic bed sheets". BUT then you never know. No pictures on the wall and nothing that can make your stay pleasant. The staff, however, were excellent and I felt sorry for them. The street location - well - 2 B-girls were fighting over their John and not doubt would be staying at the hotel. The street was lined with bars, night clubs and all of the excitement. Restaurants had many water pipes for smoking and area was filled with Australians no doubt on their sex vacations which the Philippines and Thailand are now known for. It was...
Read morePlace has changed the way it operates. it is not so much a hotel anymore and more of an apartment building that property owners rent out on various booking sites. It is still possible to book it as a hotel room but be prepared for absolute minimal facilities compared to if you rent it directly from a private host or landlord. ||The biggest change to anyone who knows about this place and the street it is on is that no visitors are allowed in at night time and the security guards on the door are very strict about this. With no 24 hour desk, the security guards are the ones who decide who is allowed in!||I first stayed in this hotel in 2006 - for a month. A few other times since over the past 20 years or so. Recently was there in April 2024 for four days Makati business trip. I booked via a private host and was provided with a fully equipped studio - but it was not cheap. So, one one hand yes it still is the cheapest hotel around (if booked as a hotel room) but going private will cost you double. Oh and be aware that the hotel does not have any wifi. Only the private hosts'...
Read moreI’m giving Makati Citadel Inn a 5-star review—not because it’s a luxury 5-star hotel, but because they really try their best here. The front door staff are always friendly and welcoming, the guards are polite and attentive, and even the person I rented the room from was extremely kind and accommodating.
The location is unbeatable, right at the corner of P. Burgos Street and Makati Avenue. You’re surrounded by everything you could want: fine dining, casual local spots, affordable eats, and yes, a few higher-priced touristy places. The action here is practically 24/7, with energy and life all around you.
For the price and what you get, it’s a great deal. My room was clean no smells, spotless bathroom, and white linen sheets! If you’re looking for a place with genuine hospitality and one of the best locations in Makati, Citadel Inn is an...
