This hotel overall is quite good.
There are a few things that made it a little hard to stay here.
One being the lift situation... wow does it take a long time to get anywhere in the building, not to mention the firefly rooftop restaurant and skydeck. It is open to the public and unfortunately there is no dedicated lift just for the restaurant so the public is also using all the lifts and on the weekend it took me ten minutes to get from level 15 to the ground because of how busy it was upstairs.
It is a beautiful view up there and the food and drinks were good. So it definitely worth the visit.
The buffet breakfast in the morning was fantastic, it had a great diverse selection of cuisines, pastries, fruits and beverages to choose from. Definitely worth the add on.
The staff here are amazing and so, so helpful. At any point they were always happy to have a chat and offer assistance when needed. After a long day of travelling the check in process was so streamlined and quick we were surprised as it has been a lot longer at other hotels throughout the Philippines.
The rooms were nice, had good fit outs and were modern. Unfortunately we got a room that faced a wall and so that took away from the coolness of the suite. Our friends had suites with views and it felt a lot different so make sure to ask for a view when staying here.
For me the smoking room is a no go. All our clothes smelt of cigarettes when we left. Just get a non smoking please.
In terms of location it was not bad there was a lot to do near by and alot of bars and restaurants. If you are looking to stay here and also go to old town, sm mall of Asia allow yourself extra time as they are all about 30 mins away. 5-6kms but thanks to manila traffic roughly an hour round trip.
Century city mall is just behind with a small amount of shops but enough to get food, supermarkets, Starbucks and some retail shopping. I would get a grab and head to power plant mall it is 5 mins away and a gorgeous mall with plenty of food and high end retail. Showing what makati has to offer as an up...

Read moreBooked on the advice of one of my dearest friends, who lives in Makati (everyone knows Pablo), this hotel has it all and more. We arrived very early, about 10 o clock, after a 9 hour red-eye and were met with nothing was too much trouble syndrome. The entire team from start to finish was (and as I write, still is) great. Special mentions to Sha at reception and Ackee, who patrols the lobby and would make the dullest of individuals smile and the drabbest of lives worth living.
The room itself was spacious with an enormous bathroom replete with both a shower room and a separate bath. The floors are hardwood.....can't beat that for not getting cold feet when you walk around....not that that mattered as I quickly sported the slippers that were provided. We were on the 25th floor so there were no shortages of views over Makati !
The bed was very big...so much so that sadly, I lost wifey at some point. It was also very comfortable.
The hotel also has a rooftop bar (more in my separate review of the Firefly), a restaurant on the 7th floor and a fitness center on the 9th. No photos - there are already lots of those on-line....no need for me to add to the world's environmental struggles with building data centers to retain everyones' selfies and cat videos....
Anyway, there are cheaper places to stay I'm sure, but if you've just a few pesos extra, this place is well worth it.
Edit: One small thing.... tonight I asked reception for a few extra teabags, water and perhaps some real milk to put in the fridge (instead of the creamer powder) - and if they didn't have it, perhaps the restaurant had some? I was told that I'd be charged for the milk.... I went to the restaurant anyway, and Cindy just gave me some for free. Arguably a small point, but now I'm left with that needless itch. I think spending 3 nights here and dumping money into the restaurant and bar, that reception might just have handled that a little...
