Hotel Sogo EDSA Shaw Blvd. — Hotel in Mandaluyong

We got at the hotel around 10:40 PM, Sunday night, October 13, 2024. No one greeted or bowed to us like in other branches. We were totally ignored especially by the guy in white polo. When another customer went to ask him for directions, he scratched his head as if he was annoyed. That's also how he looked at me and my partner, annoyed. He also do not answer us specifically when we ask questions about the rooms, he just shakes his head or just stares at us until we kind of get it ourselves. He told us that there was no other room available, but the Regency. When I was paying for the room while getting my money, he kept on reaching his hand to get our payment as if he wants us to hurry up and pay. The two receptionists were just laughing at the corner. They also did not give us a key card, they only gave us a wrinkly piece of paper with the room number written on it. Right after we paid, he left and never looked back at us again as if we should already know where to go. Same with the two receptionists who were busy talking and laughing at each other. When we got in the Regency room, the floor and walls were covered in cuts and scratches. One of th pillow cases was not properly put as it had the cotton of the pillow sticking out. The single door of our Regency room kept sounding off as it was hard to close. The door of our restroom was also hard to open. It had cuts and scratches as well. There is a hole in the bathtub, there was no hair blower, and the only cabinet there had no handle so it was almost impossible to open. When we checked out, the morning staff also ignored us. No one greeted or asked us except the cleaning boy who is the only who showed us a bit of customer service. We just got off from 12+ hour shift and we work in a hospital in Pasig City. We decided to check in since our end of shift was late and our start of shift the next day is early. We are from Valenzuela City. The Hotel Sogo never ceases to amaze me and one of the cheapest and ready to get by hotel that everyone can visit. I went to other hotel as a walk in but that hotel wanted to charge me 3k for a single room they told me if i want to get a room cheaper I need to use the online platform. Even Sogo was too far from my venue I get a cab and there I got a much cheaper offer in Edsa Shaw Sogo branch. The entrance is clean, the staff are really polite and if course you can find the place very nice. I got the room immediately and find comfort in the room I have chosen. There is also a way to eat since there is a menu booklet you can use and I just dial the operator and ordered food, I am not hassled and do not need to go outside to buy food. The comfort room is clean with good water supply. The room seems safe since there are double doors and locks are okay. The aircon though is a little bit cold and the remote don't work.
