Nine Spices Hotpot and Grill — Restaurant in Mandaluyong

We had a great 💯 experience with excellent service 💯, likely because the restaurant wasn’t crowded when we visited around 3-4 p.m., so the staff’s attention was fully on us. The crew was courteous, welcoming, and very attentive. There’s no service fee, so don’t forget to leave a tip if you enjoyed the service!

They serve complimentary appetizers, and each guest receives a slice of tiramisu for dessert. Ice cream is available à la carte for PHP 48. I really enjoyed the soup—it includes dates to balance the richness, which adds a unique touch.

The cheesy scallops are a must-try—they’re incredibly cheesy! However, I don’t think we actually got the beef cubes we ordered; instead, what was served were BBQ tofu cubes. Also, the juicy beef balls (shantou) didn’t match the quality of those served by their close competitor. They may want to consider a different supplier for this item.

We dined at 9 Spices Hotpot and Grill on a rainy evening. Unlike nearby hotpot, we arrived with moderate number of customers. We were accommodated immediately for 6 pax.

They have the option to avail only the hotpot and both hotpot and grill. They have a lot of options pf meat, balls, chicken, vegetables, seafood etc we chose a handful of meat both for grill and hotpot by filling in a paper and ticking the boxes.

One note is that they are SLOW (~15-20mins after giving the paper) to serve your orders despite a manageable number of customers.

The broth is savory and flavorful. The meats and vegetables are of substantial sizes. Its a good alternative for other hotpot options within ortigas. They offer unlimited juice and water. However, the juice doesn’t taste good. So we ordered soft drinks instead.

I had the most incredible hotpot experience! From the moment I walked in, the ambiance was warm and inviting, setting the perfect mood for a satisfying meal. The staff was incredibly attentive, making sure we had everything we needed without even having to ask.

The ingredients were top-notch—fresh, high-quality meats, a wide variety of vegetables, and an impressive selection of broths bursting with flavor. Every bite was a delight! The dipping sauces were a game-changer, adding an extra layer of taste to every bite.

What truly made this experience stand out was the overall quality and attention to detail. The restaurant was clean, the service was fast, and the portions were generous. I left feeling beyond satisfied and can’t wait to come back for another round.
