We had stayed here last December 2017 and we liked what we experienced. But during check in last September 22, they gave me a room with a bad aircon, room looks terrible. Cable TV (?) has only 5 channels. Wow. So I requested for a room change which they did. But the room they gave me has a bad aircon and TV has no remote. Since I have to go out to fetch my husband from the airport, I stayed in that room but I informed the receptionist that I will need a room transfer again when we get back. When we get back they gave us a bad room again. I asked them to let me see other available rooms. I have seen at least three more rooms. Finally we settled in a room which still looks terrible but at least has good cold aircon and TV remote. Cable TV has many channels to select too. Well, let's see what happens when we get back from our vacation. By the way, they added "silog" meals in their menu which is great.
Update: When we checked in for the second time the female receptionist gave us the very first room mentioned above. I didn't accept immediately and told her i know what awaits us there. I asked to be given the last room we had. She complied but seemed irritated. By the way this girl doesn't know how to smile and greet guests. Anyway, we had to do another out-of-town trip so we left again. On our 3rd check in surprisingly that girl gave us the very first room again. Lord, forgive me because I couldn't contain my anger any longer. I shouted and demanded her to give me the reason why she always put us there. She told me that the room is OK now. Well, I don't want to waste time checking it so I asked for another room. She said that all rooms are occupied. Really? Our room is prepaid and I specifically requested in my booking that I need a working aircon and good tV. Why gave us a room that's way out of what I requested. Her sup came to her rescue and told me that if I want to choose a good room I should book directly from them. And if I really want to be transferred to one right there and then, I have to pay for an upgrade. Seriously? I realized then that it was a scam. It's their way of taking money from their guests. They will give guest a bad room, the guest complains and they will tell guest to pay more to be upgraded to a good room. Other hotels can give upgrade for free even if not being told to if the room does not meet the guest's expectations or it does not conform to the description given in the booking site as the guest sees it. For this one, we had no choice but to accept it as we are really tired and we don't want to shell out extra money for the upgrade .The AM guard is attentive and ok as well as the AM room attendant that time The male receptionist is good as well. The PM guard is not good. I wish the hotel management will train the female receptionists especially the one with the braces on her teeth how to render good customer service. Might as well include the female supervisor too. She seems not professional talking to me while leaning sideways and putting her elbow on the reception desk. These girls might be thinking that I am a bar girl or GRO because I am with a foreigner (who is my husband). I wish I had brought my PRC License lol. This hotel looks promising but some of their staffs are ruining their chance. Will I stay again? We already booked a different hotel for our...
Read moreWas upgraded to a suite for a couple of nights as a Spire Elite member. Much appreciate.||||The suite is great with lots of living space and enough room to spread out for a couple of nights. The bath tube is amazing - large and luxurious and perfect for a good soak after a day's walking in the rain.||||The hotel is located next to a large mall which also happens to be within walking distance of the SM megamall. Great for shoppers and eater alike. The hotel is slightly far from the airport and coming in on a rainy Friday night, it took well over 3 hours. Although on the way back to the airport, a measly 30 minutes. Hence probably not the best transit hotel if you're only here for a short time.||||I didn't find any nearby attractions other than the malls however it wasn't too expensive to get a grabcar to whisky you downtown to all the sites ~300 PHP. ||||The hotel breakfast was reasonable - very typical fairs for a Crowne Plaza. There's a gym and pool however I didn't make it that far. The hotel felt clean and housekeeping was keep to please.||||Overall, very solid if you have business or work around the area but given traffic conditions, I would stay close to where your work is. ||||Would definitely stay here again if I made it...
Read more*The hotel had definitely seen better days.
*Safe area with lots of commercial and tourist activity.
*Great value for money.
Our room had a commanding view of the city. It was luxuriously spacious and clean. AC was a bit disappointing as we only had a 0.5 HP unit that took a while to cool the room. It was a new unit though and cooled down the room to the point where we had to dive under the quilt. One corner of the ceiling had water damage. White bedsheet was yellow with age, but undoubtedly clean.
The free soap and shampoo was sufficiently big for several uses. Water supply was strong. Shower was heated.
Location is relatively secure with a police station nearby. Plenty of restaurants close to the hotel, and I believe the hotel has its own steakhouse. Couple of 7-Elevens a few blocks in either direction. Hotel is around 10 minutes' walk from Robinsons Place Manila and 15 minutes from Rizal Park and National Museum.
Room is 2000 per 12 hours but the desk let us have...
