I arrived here via shared van then tricycle from Calapan as boats to Peurto Galera/Sabang had been cancelled this day due to gale warning. Our van was stopped at a checkpoint. I assumed there were only 2 foreigners in the van. The checkpoint lady only asked the other foreigner questions about whether he was a resident. She did not ask me any questions nor anyone else on the bus. I questioned her. You have not asked any of the other passengers if they are residents. How do you know if they are residents or not? No answer. She was only interested in collecting 120 pesos environmental fee from me and the English man. I, and the other foreigner were clearly subjected to racial profiling.|I checked in to my Double room with mountain view. I had to go back down to reception to ask for soap and toilet paper. Small room taken up with two double beds, a shelf unit, a TV and nothing else. The aircon worked okay. Lighting was okay. I used the second bed to place my clothes etc.|The small bathroom had poor lighting and only cold water to shower. Certainly in need of a renovation.|The balcony is a shared balcony.|Unfortunately there is no policy regarding late night noise. Many efficiently run hotels have a noise policy in place. On my last night I was subjected to loud talking by a group who had checked in that day. I was kept awake until after 1am. I was so close to confronting them and telling them to stfu. I had been advised there was 24hr reception but no one bothered to direct these people to quieten down. Maybe the owner would serve the best interests of all guests if a noise policy was implemented as protection against disrespectful guests.|It's a basic room but given the prices around the beach area you get what...
Read moreGenerally, Im happy with the beach of Galera except for my hotel experience. I find Galera as a very good alternative to Boracay if youre on a budget and you wish a nearer beach to Metro Manila. But my family's experience at White Beach Guest House spoiled my good impression of the beach for the following reasons:||||1. Smoke gets inside our room because the aircon exhaust is inside an enclosed room which happens to be the working kitchen of the hotel where all the cooking is made using an unhealthy charcoal stove.||||2. Water is dirty and yellowish. ||||3. The owner does not seem to care if there are rowdy drunk guests that disturbs the peace of the place. Not family friendly. ||||4. The owner does not honor its commitment to customer - eg. Our earlier agreement with the owner allowing us to extend our stay in the hotel for a couple more hours for an addl fee because our ferry is delayed was not honored by owner when we were asked to vacate our room at noon and we had to stay outside when THE HEAT OF THE SUN IS AT ITS PEAK to wait for our ride after 3 hours going to the port area. So much for customer service.||||Hope the government of Puerto Galera calls the attention of this hotel. The ways of the hotel is certainly not helping the effort of the government to promote tourism in the area. Meanhile till this is addressed Im not inclined to go back with my family and friends much more to recommend this place to other people.||||I hope there is a way I can get feedback or advice on the devt of my complaint/concern.||||Thank you....
Read moreAmazing customer service, clean 1-bedroom with kitchenette. Only about 2 minutes walking distance from the beach. If you are looking to be pampered, this isn't the place. If you are looking for a place to chill out, shower, and hit the beach, this is the place. The bedroom has an AC, although the electricity went off a few times during the night.||||What set this place apart for me was that they called ahead and arranged our ferry for us, picked us up at the dock with a sign. I texted to reserve our room at 11:30PM the night before and received an immediate confirmation.I got a phone call from the Del Mundo ferry company the next morning and a text saying check with the ticketing agent. When I was running late, Del Mundo called me to see when we'd arrive. R/T ferry is 500 pesos from Batangas to White Beach. It was really helpful since there was a bit of chaos at the ferry terminal. Del Mundo had a sign hung up with our name on it that I made a beeline for. Leaving on Del Mundo, I texted to say I'd be on the 3:15 ferry. They texted me and called to make sure that I had made it on board at White Beach for the return trip. VERY HELPFUL!||||White Beach is family friendly during the day.
