Filigans Hotel — Hotel in Puerto Princesa

Had serious problems with mosquitoes and flies (see photos). I spoke to reception to ask if we can be moved to another room. A receptionist by the name of Princess chuckled and said the hotel is full and moving to another room is not possible. I had to ask what the solution is as we cannot sleep with flies resting on our faces and mosquitoes biting us. She said she will send someone to spray an insecticide. A male staff went inside the room hastily and whilst my partner is still on the phone speaking to Princess he sprayed insecticide in the whole room. I had to tell him not to do that as insecticide is hazardous to health. We were not even asked to leave the room nor offered to stay in the lobby until the insecticide wears off.

Staff need to be trained on communication skills and customer service; chatting and sitting at reception, and do not even acknowledge guests coming in and bums can’t leave their seats.

Towels are dirty and sheets do not smell good. Unfortunately, this hotel was included in our travel package. If I were you…...

I booked into this hotel in November 2022 for three nights. Upon arrival, I saw the towels that were provided look like rags. I ended up using them to wipe the wet floor. The toilet paper was not sufficient, so I requested for one more.On the 2nd day of my stay, the trash in the garbage can was still overflowing and not removed. I informed the receptionist, but she said housekeeping needs to be requested. On top of that, the bedside lamp sizzled and smoked around 3:30 AM. A man came early in the morning, not to fix the outlet but to replace the lamp. Knowing how unsafe the bedside lamp is, I decided to have an early check out.Guests don't need fancy hotel rooms. After all, they are away all day long. As long as they are clean, have adequate space and a functional hot and cool water system, all is well. I won't recommend this hotel to anyone. It's redeeming quality is the accessibility of transportation as well as the presence of elevator. Other than that, it's better toook for a much better...

I booked thru Agoda and requested for an airport transfer... no car came to fetch me neither any notification tthru text that i will not be fetched at the airport. I requested for an additional small table, NO AVAILABLE. My last night and day of stay was marred by non availability of water in the faucet. They said the problem is from the WATER DISTRICT that supplies water in the wgile city, me? I think the hotel has its own share of blame... they did not store enough water for the guests in spite of the water district advisory that there will no water supy on the 23rd and 24th of June. The only praise worthy in that hotel was the man cleaning the room. When I asked for a plate, bowl and utensil he willingly obliged and brought a set to my room. I wonder if the same will be given to me if I asked instead at the front desk who refused all my other...
