Hotel Fleuris Palawan — Hotel in Puerto Princesa

Although round trip airport transfer was included in my rate and the hotel confirmed via e-mail that they would pick me up, no van or car arrived to fetch me. I called the hotel and was told they were sending someone but after waiting an additional 20 minutes, I opted to take a taxi instead. Upon arrival, I clearly saw 2 vans in front of the hotel but was told that the vans were under maintenance. I’m not sure why this wasn’t clearly conveyed when I called from the airport?!!? There was also no hot water in the shower. On a more positive note, the air conditioning worked great, the room was clean, and the bed was suitably comfortable. Ridiculously expensive for the Philippines or the US for that matter. Ants in the room. Took over 45 minutes to get a bowl of soup delivered to the room after ordering room service. Complained and then some disgruntled worker began ordering deliveries to my room number from local restaurants. Asked for information on renting a car and was told they would call me in an hour. No call. Went down to the front desk and then they made the call. They said it would be another hour before the guy showed up. Workers at front desk said "Good Morning Sir!" every time I went downstairs but would not acknowledge my spouse with the same courtesy. We felt unwelcome and patronized. I was on a recent trip to Palawan with friends. This hotel was our little haven. The place itself is modest in size, but the rooms are quite spacious. Facilities are very clean and modern. Prices very reasonable. We paid 3,000 php per room (good for 2 people) per night..which included breakfast (yummy and filling).

The staff was the best! From the admin people, front desk, bellboy, waiters, driver, lobby/japanese resto pianist...they were all very nice, respectful and accomodating! They helped us get transportation/driver to go to specific tourist destinations like the Underground River, etc.

The location was near everything we needed to be like the mall/supermarket, various restaurants, church, airport.

Would definitely go back and...
