I spent one night here alone and then one night with my friends who were joining me from another destination.||I had originally only booked the one night by myself - however after how helpful the family were, I came back with my friends for another night.||||It is a family run pension - they picked me up from the airport and took me to the hostel.||I knew that my friends would be arriving the next day and that we wanted to continue to El Nido for a few days and then return back to PP and go on the underground river.||||The hostel then picked up my friends the next day, took us to apply for the permit for the river - arranged transport to El Nido (for a much better price than at the airport) - they then helped us to find accommodation in El NiIdo - which took the stress out of finding somewhere when we got there.||||The hostel itself is pretty basic. The bathrooms in The Philippines are not the best - and this hostel is no different. However I would definitely come back and stay here! I really enjoyed talking to the manager, as she always ensured we had the best accommodations possible. The staff were very knowledgeable of the area, and gave great recommendations. The driver associated with the hotel/motel was also very nice, and gave us the best service possible. ||||Don't let the rates fool you! They had some of the lowest rates at the time of our reservation, due to the off-peak season, but it was surely value-packed! Each room is equipped with A/C, a TV, and a water heater unit in the restroom. This place is a great place to stay, and is very close to the airport. I HIGHLY recommend it. ||||General Puerto Princesa Tip: Be sure to ask the front desk about how the tricycles in front work, as those are reserved specifically for the guests. The city of Puerto Princesa is really clean, and honest in general.
