Never book anything with this hostal, they just give smth to the guests in order to receive nice reviews on Google and Booking. They tried to do that as well with me but I am pissed of these false hostals that pretend they are amazing and are just very random or have a lower quality than other ones who don't pay / give smth to the guests in exchange of an excellent review. I am doing a world tour and I have never had people who wanna steal your money like they do in this hostal. They think foreigners are all rich and we just want to spend our money. I modify my booking and ask several days in advance to book only 2 nights instead of 3 and they told me they would reimburse me without amy problem if the room is rebook again. The room was rebook again but then they told me they would only give me a refund if I write a 9/10 review on Booking; which I did and they still are trying to negociate for other things for me to do in order to have my money back. First time in my life I see very unfriendly and robbery client service in an hostal. After that I met several other people from this hostal in El Nido or Port Barton or Coron and they all told me indeed they had to write a review to not have problems with them so please pass your way and book a real filipino place and not this scam. I have the screenshots to prove they negociated several time with me and at the end still not give me my money back. All the hostals in Philippines are aware of the backpackers reality and time schedule may change in the last moments but these people in Mojo don't care, they just want your money and that's it....
Read moreWe wish we had a good experience like most of the reviews here, but sadly we didn’t.
The Pros: The rooms are decent we stayed in the 10 bed dorm. Each cubicle is quite private, beds are comfy. The shower has hot water.
The Cons: There is a light above your pillow that doesn’t really turn off, it’s just very dim. The bathroom occasional smells of urine. The shower has open windows at shoulder level, so can make you feel quite uncomfortable to shower during the day.
The restaurant/bar is meant to be open from 7am, but we had to chase down staff to order. We ended up ordering at reception. The menu options are also quite sad.
Our worst problem was staff were quite incompetent. On 2 separate occasions staff gave us wrong timings, one for a tour and the second for our transfer to El Nido.
We booked our transfer to El Nido for 10-11am. We booked this around 4pm the day before. We then checked a second time before heading to bed asking if the transfer was still going ahead with the requested time.
The next day we’re being told the van is waiting for us at 9:10am, whilst we’re trying to order breakfast. The woman at reception booked the wrong time and failed to mention it, so we were left unpacked and left hungry for the...
Read moreI had an amazing 3-day stay at Mojo Hostel. The cozy atmosphere and affordable rates make it a top choice for travelers. The place is spotless, with plenty of chill-out spots to relax. The food and drinks are reasonably priced, and their chicken adobo is a must-try! Kudos to the kitchen team!
The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. Special shoutouts to:
Ms. Arlyn at the front desk - always smiling and accommodating! Sir Meljun, the utility staff - ensuring everything is spotless and taking care of guests' needs. Ms. Jundave, the bartender - super accommodating, efficient, and always smiling! And Kuya Mario (a.k.a. Super Mario)- an honest and reliable tricycle driver who'll take you around the city at affordable rates!
Most guests I met were respectful and friendly, adding to the warm atmosphere. The hostel's central location in Palawan makes it easy for tours with free pickup to find you.
Overall, I highly recommend Mojo Hostel for its excellent service, comfortable stays, and great value. I Can't wait...
