My girlfriend and I are on our trip of the countries that surround Poland and this is our first stop before we leave Poland and venture off to Budapest. My Girlfriend's parents booked this hotel for us after looking at the reviews and the ideal location. Upon our arrival to the Lounge Apartments we were pleased with the ambience. We had no doubt our room would be any less pleasing from the pictures provided online. To our disbelief we were welcomed to our room by some unwanted guests. There were bugs all over the room and in our bed.We were discussed by this and immediately requested to switch rooms. After a long day of traveling and walking the city we were excited to take a shower and crawl into a nice warm bed, but could not do to the unwanted guests. The very sweet lady working the front desk helped us switch our rooms and apologized. Also keep in mind this is my first trip to Europe and this is the first experience I'm getting. After we switched our rooms surely nothing else could go wrong, they must have gone through and checked this room to be sure right? Wrong, immediately stepping in the room we see the same insects from the last room we had. Windows were shut, Doors were closed and locked but yet there were the same bugs from the last room and we are being told the boss doesn't believe us, that we are over reacting. The boss said he could offer us a bottle of Prosecco. Something we believed was just not appropriate for the situation, we suggested a small refund was in order for how much we paid and the less than par service we received. The boss said no to this and could only offer a very insincere apology. This is not how I expect a business should be run when the employees treat us better and are able to do more for us than the owner. No guest should need to fully strip their bed in fear of finding bugs to prevent getting bit in the middle of the night. We just wished to shower and wash away the long day and deal with everything in the morning, but stepping into the shower we notice we can't close the door so we just hold it shut and shake it off for now. We understood not everything is how it should or what you want it to be, but this place has not stood up the great reviews and the pictures posted online. Going to close the door from the bathroom to the bedroom/kitchen area the door handle pulled right out of the door in my hand. What next? These minor flaws had started to real make our stay much less convenient. Upon talking to the boss the next morning my girlfriend and I were treated as a joke. He came to the room to inspect it, but by then we had managed to get rid of the bugs which we did show to the two ladies at the front desk and he was there for a whole 2 minutes before he just walked out and told my girlfriend we were being to over dramatic and nothing would be done. Well to that I bid adieu to this awful stay with lounge apartments and wish everyone after my girlfriend and I consider other places that will not charge outrageous prices to...
Read moreThis place is an absolute gem. We wanted to stay in the centre of the olde town as we were attending a family birthday party in the square. When we arrived outside at first we doubted our choice however once we were inside the building any concerns were quickly brushed away. What a gem of a place. The room was easy to access with simple facilities and everything worked. The four poster bed with mosquito nets and drapes were very classy and the bed gave us the best nights sleep in a very long time. Hot running water and a good sized shower made getting ready for a couple easy too. The apartment is secure and secluded with first class service for our morning breakfast and what a lovely choice of friut bread and eggs we had. The nightlife of Krakow is on your doorstep and in the morning following breakfast a trip in a buggy around the olde town and jewish quarter is strongly recommended. You can park outside overnight free from 8pm until 10am if your lucky to get a place remember to top up your parking ticket before 10.05am though. Krakow is a beautiful place to visit and a gem in the olde kingdoms crown. With a stay here is money well spent and worth every penny you...
Read moreIm in poland at the moment, in the lounge apartments krakow. Large, spacious apartment, self catering. Needs alittle bit of attention to detail ( eg.. small holes in wall, shower door leaks alittle) it has a small garden where u can sit and have a drink or eat. But overall, its in a great location to the old town - walked everywhere ( make sure have comfortable footwear ) - havent had to get bus, tram etc... 10 minutes from what they call the square - alot to see there, museums, churches etc.. and plenty of food places. Just around the corner is a carrefour express ( tiny shop, sells abit more than a petrol station shop but great for essentials) also around the corner is a pastry shop - wow ! doughnuts are bigger than a tennis ball. If the assistant tells u that the doughnuts are filled with marmalade- dont panic - marmalade means jam in poland and spain !!!! Had a jam doughnut with icing and sugared orange peel on the top - delicious 😋 Would stay here again. And will be returning to poland, lovely place, friendly and they speak very good english - which is good for me -...
