Aura Village City Beach Apartments — Hotel in Albufeira

Pool area was lovely and never an issue getting sun loungers by the pool for my family of 4. Rooms are very dated but we didnt expect much due to price. It was cleaned regulary and beds where clean, we spent very little time in the apartment so its wasnt a huge deal to us. Staff where lovely, very friendly to us and always spoke to the kids etc. We had a late flight home so we where able to leave our luggage at reception and use all onsite facilities after checkout (although the shower was freezing as it doesnt have hot water). Few shops bars etc at bottom of the road and then about 20mins walk to old town, beach etc. We liked being away from the hussle and bussle with having kids with us but it was good to access it when we went out for dinner etc in the evenings. Lots of lovely places to eat. We found it quite cheap for food, drinks . We paid deposit on arrival and it was returned straight away upon checking out. Over all we all had a lovely week here. This place is a total scam! The overall scenery is nice with a pool and plants but it is often overcrowded due to the amount of rooms and the fact you can only use one of the two pools you see. The rooms on the other hand are very dated with ants frequently spotted despite lack of food being left out which was quite off putting! The fridge also was faulty as our ice was melting into the floor. The worst part was the owner! Extremely rude and threatening to me and friends even refusing to give back out deposits despite the rooms being left spotless!! This is usual behaviour from him as you can see in other reviews. It’s clear he will find any reason to remove your deposit from you to make some easy cash and take advantage of you. I recommend strongly against this area as you are far from town and there are many more affordable and generally nicer locations where you can play music by the pool without being threatened with being thrown out or being shouted...

Horrendous Experience - Avoid at All Costs!||I wish I could give this place zero stars. From the moment we arrived, it was clear this hotel was going to be a nightmare. The staff were not only unhelpful but downright threatening. They actually threatened to take our €300 deposit over NOTHING. Completely unprofessional and absurd.||To make matters worse, we weren't even allowed to use the shower by the pool. Seriously, what kind of hotel has a pool but restricts basic amenities like that? It’s beyond ridiculous.||As if that wasn’t bad enough, we were scolded for playing with a ball in the pool. Isn’t that what pools are for? The level of control freak behavior here is off the charts.||And don’t even get me started on the rooms. They were absolutely infested with ants and cockroaches. Disgusting!
