Roots Hotel Apartments — Hotel in Faro

Excellent place, affordable price. Located 5 minutes walk from bus station. 10 minutes walk from marina and 15 minutes walk from huge shopping centre with hypermarket "Auchan" that we found accidentally while walking to nearest LIDL. We bought all our groceries in Auchan since then, amazingly huge shop with everything you'd need. Also has cheap "Lefties" clothing shop nearby.

The room was on the 4th floor with a great view of the city, planes taking off and a little bit of canals.

There is a nice little pool which is not too cold and was perfect for swimming in the morning, just before lunch. After lunch, the sun does not reach water in the pool but still covers the planks near the pool to keep you dry and warm.

There is complimentary coffee near the pool in the kitchen.

We had a microwave, dishwasher, cooking stove, and plenty of cutlery.

The bathroom was excellent, clean, and fresh.

TV in the room was Samsung, so we could use our own Samsung phone to stream view either YouTube or any other movie we had downloaded. Also.plenty of channels where you can change language to English via the "tools" button.

The room was cleaned very fast when desired.

Overall, I am extremely satisfied with the place and facilities!

We highly recommend you restaurant near Marina "O Coreto". We found them the best. They got fair pricing, excellent food, extremely fast service (in April), and the best sangria in town. Avoid "Seven cuts" nearby at all costs. Rip off...

Genuinely the best hotel I've stayed in. All the staff are BEYOND friendly. The rooms were completely clean and housekeeping was done in the mornings every day. They did not hesitate to help us at all, we had numerous questions and they were very happy to help. Some of the housekeepers didn't speak english but would still greet us every morning, which was very kind. I cannot applaud the staff enough.

I parked underground for 5 euros a day, to get into the underground parking was very steep (not an issue) however, I drove a manual car and really struggled to go uphill (my own fault) the staff were very kind and drove the car out the carpark for me which was a huge aid! If you do want to drive a car, i suggest renting a smaller car as the space is quite narrow. We drove a mitsubishi and that was fine.

The swimming pool is a lovely size and they have a wonderful seating area. In hindsight, we realised that for our holiday Faro wasn't the best location to stay in as it was far from the places we wanted to go, but just for the Hotel I would 100% return.

We didn't try out the breakfast, but they offer a wide selection of homemade breakfast, you just have to let them know by 6pm the night before. They offer free hot drinks in the business center. You can use their printer for free to print out boarding passes.

I couldn't say enough good things about this hotel! Firstly, the staff were so friendly and helpful, on hand to answer any questions we had! |Secondly, it's location is perfect for walking to the marina in a few minutes and near all restaurants, bus station and train station. ||The Room: We paid a little extra for a room with a terrace and I'm so glad we did, it was so nice to get back to the room after walking around, and chill out on the terrace with a glass of wine in the sun. The room was big, bright and airy, bed comfy and big, bathroom perfect, kitchen had everything you'd need! |Because it was our anniversary, the hotel had left towel swans on our bed with petals, it was such a lovely touch and I was chuffed!! ||The area outside the hotel is run down but most of Faro is like this but I see cranes all over the town and so it looks as though lots is being done to improve Faro's streets and buildings. ||The paths are uneven, have holes, are damaged so I would recommend being careful and wearing secure footwear when walking around! ||Roots Hotel was fantastic! We could have used the plunge pool too but there was people in it when we wanted to use it, which is fine, no problem. ||Would highly recommend...
