I booked a 5 night stay at Hotel Sol, the cost was about €250. Upon arriving at the reception, the person on duty was welcoming. The hotel is very close to both the train and bus station 🚉, so it was a 5 minute walk, when I got off the bus from the airport. Regarding the room I stayed in,a top floor room with a small balcony. The rooms are very small, the pictures make it look bigger but believe me, the rooms are tiny. There is very little room to move around the bed. The bathroom 🚻 is tiny also. The room was clean, however. Regarding functionality, there are very few 🔌 sockets, and the ones there are are in bad locations. The light switches by the bed 🛌 are too high to reach from bed. This hotel is EXTREMELY noisy. There is little or no soundproofing. You hear every noise. The elevators 🛗 constantly clanging, especially at night. You can hear some kind of humming noise all the time. The corridor flooring is tiled, so you hear footsteps that wake you up. The door on my room had gaps, so light from the corridor came through at night. This hotel 🏨 needs to be refurbished it's very dated. I know it's only a 2-star 🌟 hotel, but I never got one night. Good sleep 😴 during my stay. I'm sorry to be negative, but that's just my experience. I wouldn't visit this hotel again, and I wouldn't recommend it either, even though it was cheap. I've given 2 stars because the room was clean and good location. I've deducted 3 stars because of the noise and lack of a...
Read moreThe rooms are indeed clean and cleaning staff deserve their praise, however the water on the shower alternates between freezing cold and scalding hot, although the owner states there is no fix as this is caused by several people taking showers at the same time, surely there must be one as I stayed in smaller and larger hotels where this is not a problem and still several people will use facilities at the same time. the owner gave me an example of a hotel he stayed in London that had the same problem as evidence is not a thing he could fix, but as i said I stayed in many many hotels that do not have this problem and giving another hotel as an example to not address the problem is an easy way out. I must give kudos to the owner as he did get a leaky shower fixed. even though was only achieved at a second attempt it was done. Another problem is that the bathroom stinks in the morning like bad toilet smell, which does clear throughout the day...but is horrible. and flaky bathroom furniture due to having been wet in the past should be fixed or replaced as it looks bad. As well as silicon seals. But overall was OK, I would stay again as the price is reasonable and overall cleanliness is OK, and staff is pleasant. Again five stars to...
Read moreThe hotel was fine enough for a few nights, like a weekend trip in Faro. It was closeby some minimarkets and also within walking distance to the shopping street. It is a 2 star hotel and you can really see that back in it. It has a small enterance, where the second door looks a little flimpsy. There was only one elevator, the doorhandle of my room was not in a great state anymore and inside the room was also not the best. The bathroom was small where the showerdoor didnt close that wel. They luckily provide enough towels and showergels. My room had a balcony with a view of some "not so pretty" buildings. But what was nice is the soundproof of the balcony doors. Even when it was located next to the streets, I didnt hear anything in the room once its closed. I did often hear noises from the other rooms next to me, so I guess the balcony door has much better soundproofing than the walls. The breakfast was bare minimum with some bread and toppings. The desk persons were most of the time friendly, or at least one if them were always friendly. The others was just looking at you with a...
