Viola Market - Stores & Studios — Hotel in Funchal

Booked this apartment late as I had to cancel my expected holiday due to covid. The apartment block is very close to the Central Market and is very handy for the city centre. There is a very good bar/restaurant adjacent (Apauza) with live music every lunch. The side street (Rua de Santa Maria) is packed with local restaurants. The landlords (Feels Like Home) and representative (Joao) were extremely helpful, providing me with an early check-in as my flight arrived at 10:25.||Access to the block is via a keypad, as is access to the apartment, meaning you don't have to worry about a key. The apartment was very clean, tidy and spacious and fitted out with air conditioning. The kitchen was fitted out with a sink, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, 2 ring induction hob, full oven and grill, fridge and pots and pans. A washer/drier was located in the bathroom. There was also an iron and ironing board. There were a number of supermarkets locally allowing you to easily stock up...

I'm surprised by the opinions because we are usually quite demanding and we loved it! The apartment is perfect with its studio style. It has a practical kitchen with all necessities for breakfasts and easy meals. Nice big bed and little comfortable couch to watch tv. It was very clean and location for us was perfect. Rua de Santa María is filled with restaurants and bars. It's true you can hear some noise from the street, but maybe having gone in february, it's less roudy than in the summer months. We slept fine! Also loved the no-key system, nice and easy! Mariana was also very nice and was quick to answer any and all concerns. Negatives: The kitchen has only two coffee capsules. Nothing else, no napkins, no salt, no sugar, etc... The 16€ tax You have to be a bit careful with the shower and the water not...

The location is perfect, and the room itself is quite nice. However, the thin windows and walls seem as if they’re made of paper because we can hear everything from outside. Additionally, having restaurants with live music just downstairs didn’t help with the noise...
