Guest House Amoreiras — Hotel in Lisbon

We stayed here for a couple of weeks while we were visiting Lisbon for the first time. Meeting Emilia was one of the highlights of our time in Lisbon and we couldn’t wish for anything more! She was always happy to help, share stories of her family and life, and make us laugh.

The guest house was kept very clean by Emilia and her colleague, and they were always available via WhatsApp if necessary.

The kitchen area and bathrooms were great. Washing was available at a reasonable price too. Like most houses in Lisbon, the interior is wooden so there can be some noise but it wasn’t much of an issue for us.

It’s reasonably close to the centre city, so using Bolts and public transport wasn’t an issue.

Can’t recommend it enough! Thanks so much Emilia :) We will definitely stay here again when we come...

Check-in is in person, handing over the key directly, so be sure to contact them in advance to coordinate properly.

The room I stayed in was a single room without windows, and there are two shared bathrooms — one with just a shower and one with a bathtub. I used with a bathtub at night, so I didn’t have to wait or share with anyone. Both the room and bathrooms were very clean and well-maintained.

The only downside is that the walls are quite thin, so you can hear other guests talking or unlocking their doors. This might bother light sleepers.

The bed was very soft and comfortable, and I had a good night’s sleep.

It was our first time in Portugal in January this year - a HUGE thank you to our lovely host, we will never forget this experience.

Unlike other reviews I found this place to be exceptionally clean, surprisingly so since it was almost full towards the end of the week. Our room had what we needed and the kitchen was very useful and also clean even though we shared with other guests.

For the price (around 140 euros) for two people for 4 nights I though this was very budget friendly, it had a lovely location, and I loved the old house it was located in with the big keys 💕
