I recently revisited this sushi restaurant that I used to frequent 15 years ago when they were located in Picoas Plaza. Back then, it was one of the best sushi spots in Lisbon, known for its exceptional quality and fresh ingredients. Naturally, I was excited to return and see if it still lived up to my fond memories.
Unfortunately, my experience this time left me feeling a bit disappointed. The quality of the sushi has noticeably decreased compared to what I remember. While I understand that restaurants evolve over time, the freshness and flavor no longer justify the current pricing of €26 to €30 for the all-you-can-eat menu. I’m not sure if it was due to visiting on a Monday, but the overall experience fell short of expectations.
In terms of service, it was a mixed experience. I dined with friends, and while the second waitress who attended to us was very friendly and accommodating, the male server’s attitude left a sour note. When explaining the temakis menu, he came across as rude and condescending—interrupting our excitement to point out, in a dismissive tone, that he wasn’t finished listing the options. This moment dampened the mood for us.
That said, I want to acknowledge the effort and kindness of the second waitress, who made us feel welcome and balanced out the experience somewhat.
I hope this restaurant can work on improving both the quality of the food and the consistency of their service. It holds a special place in my heart, and I’d love to see it regain its reputation as one of Lisbon’s top...
Read moreWe had really high hopes to try their all-you-can-eat service, unfortunately that service is very limited by certain types of sushi and starters alongside miso soup. The best ones, uramaki, harumaki, futomaki… they were all excluded. And on top of everything, you are still not allowed to choose the sushi you want, you have to comply with whatever they choose to bring. They do ask you about preferences but that’s all you could say. At this point it’s not “all-you-can-eat”, it’s “all-I-give-you”. Now, we would understand concept. But the biggest contradiction are the prices, for a restaurant that is not fancy or special, the prices are extremely and absurdly high. I have been to so many asian restaurants, specifically all-you-can-eat and this has been regrettably the worst. I think they should keep some research about their concept and make it more convenient in every way. After all, I appreciate the work of the people who work there! Without us asking, the waitress was really upset with us not being satisfied with the food and offered a little bit discount in the check. While it was small, we heartedly knew that they want to and tried to do better. So thank you, but I would not visit again. (All you can eat is 27 euro per person with limits and other sushi orders are usually...
Read moreBeautiful place. The decoration of the place is very good, with a small waterfall on a glass wall, with a wooden bridge, reminding the japonese culture. It is advisable to make a reservation beforehand. The service sometimes is a little slow, which is perfect if you want to have a casual dinner, having a conversation while waiting. And you can slowly taste the food. The sushi is very good with variety. If you go to an all you can eat menu, you can also ask for specific pieces or to not bring some kind of pieces. To drink I advise a gin tonic. They have a big variety that you can choose. In doubt you can ask the personnel for advise or explanation. They are very nice. Although is a little bit more expensive than usual sushi restaurant, is definitely worth it, due to the quality...
