We enjoyed our stay in this interesting room in an apartment close to Parque Eduardo VII. Gave an insight into city living in Lisbon. About 20 mins walk into town centre. Day we arrived there was a National strike on and buses weren't running which was ok as we like walking. Continental breakfast served in a plush dining room but no flexibility with the times - had to eat at 9 am. No daily housekeeping as advertised,our room was not cleaned nor were towels changed for the three nights we were there. There was a language problem as very little English spoken and we weren't offered any local info on tours or tickets as advertised. We were not made aware of laundry facilities, something that could have been pointed out without spoken English. Our hosts were pleasant but not present apart from early mornings. Curtains didn't meet in the middle and had to push a chair up against them to keep them closed at night. On the plus side we arrived 2 hrs early and were given access to the room. Were also able to leave our cases in the room for longer on the morning we left. Weather was mild for Nov at 18-20 degrees but saw no sign of central heating as advertised. Read moreThree months in advance,I made a reservation with this B & B to stay for four nights. Ten days before i was due to arrive, the owner had to cancel due to an operation. He phoned me to tell me this and also told me he had made arrangements with someone else for me to stay there. When I heard this on the phone, I felt sorry for him and agreed. He sent me only the most minimal of information (not even the landlord's name); after 24 hours he had not sent any more information, and I decided that i would rather stay elsewhere. I asked him just to cancel and to refund my money, which I had had to pay in full in advance. He has not only refused, but has been very aggressive, writing messages such as: "you either stick to our agreement or there will not be any refund." Important to note too that this was 10 days before I was due to stay, and I had not even been told the reservation was non-changeable and non-refundable. What's more, it was the B&B owner who was cancelling the reservation, not me. i am still trying to get my money (just under £300!) back but now he does not answer any messages at all. I would absolutely not suggest to anyone that they give this B&B...
