The room was fine. The service on all levels (reception and management) was utterly unacceptable. The receptionist was not friendly and kept my son's passport. Then the hotel didn't want to use any of their money to return it.||The first sign of a total lack of care, was when I was having phone trouble and asked the receptionist if I could use the hotel's phone to call the rental car and she said no. Why? ||Anyway, what was far more horrible was the fact that she kept my son's passport and never told me if I wanted it back, I needed to return the keys to the room at check out. She said nothing about check out and seemed frustrated she needed to work when we were checking in. ||We left the hotel thinking it was auto checkout (like most hotels) and didn't notice that one of our five passports was missing until we were many hours away on a road trip through Spain. I called the hotel several times trying to get them to send us the passport to another hotel before our flight home, but nobody answered their phone. ||Then on departure day, after hours of police reports, immigration and much trouble we were finally able to leave the country and arrive at home.||However, upon returning home, I had an email about the missing passport from the hotel (which was nice... but that was all that had any kind of curtsey). ||After I tried to explain the problem, I was treated very poorly and told I would have to pay 43 Euro's to have it shipped back to me. Then when I mentioned it was their error and I should not have to pay for their mistake, I was told... if I don't want the passport, they will give it to the police. ||I'm really beyond words how a hotel in Fatima is so uncaring and rude to the people they have done wrong to. There are MANY hotels in Fatima, this one should be avoided...
Read moreAt least the price was fair! I’m still not sure if we stayed at a hotel or accidentally walked onto the set of a sitcom about the world’s worst lodging. Let’s start with the good news: the parking lot works. You drive in, you park, you leave (and trust me, you’ll want to leave). It’s flawless! This is clearly where they put all their efforts.
Now, for the experience: checking in was like being greeted by a zombie from customer-service purgatory. When we finally got our keys after what felt like a lifetime, we opened the door to our room and were immediately hit with a wave of damp air that could only be described as “a locker room from 1985.”
And then… the breakfast. If you’re a fan of food archaeology, this is your buffet. The highlight was a pile of sliced kiwi, which I’d guess was first cut sometime back in the Pleistocene. Stale pastries, rubber eggs, and coffee that tasted suspiciously like it was brewed with the hotel pool water. Delicious.
If you’re looking to cleanse your soul through suffering, book here. Otherwise, stop at the shrine, say a prayer, and find a nice convent for the night.
In short: if you want to get the feeling of staying in a dilapidated bunker, book here. At least you’ll have a great...
Read moreBooked accommodation for 2 rooms several months before and requested for connecting/adjoining rooms if possible as traveling with elderly parents who needs help. When we arrived, male receptionist told us that we are in different floors as they don't have connecting rooms. He was insistent that he can't put us at least closer room on the same floor as he was insisting they don't have connecting room. I told him, "so if your guest is asking for connecting room, since you don't have it, you will put them in separate floors and not on the rooms close enough in the same floor?" Due to our persistence and insistence he was able to give us rooms on the same floor close to each other. He was not even apologetic about it and had raised his voice a lot of times. I just insisted on reasoning but it was a very...
