We stayed here for 7 nights. The rooms were simple accommodations but you don't need any more when visiting Fatima. You don't spend much time in your room at all. We never even turned on the television once while we were there. Rooms have a TV, blow dryer, bathrooms were roomy with full tub, shower and bidet. You do need to bring your own toiletries, none are provided. You can option for meal plan which we did. The food was good. Typical European breakfast, Lunch is the main meal which always started with a delicious soup. Bottled water and wine were always on the table along with tasty portugese rolls. Most lunch meals were turkey or chicken and most dinners served were a type of fish along with fresh salad. All their staff both in the dining room and front desk were pleasant and accommodating. They do have a small bar area where would gather for an evening night cap or a morning cappuchino. We loved being around the beautiful sisters that live there. They also have a beautiful chapel that you can visit for prayer and peaceful time. We hope to return to Fatima again and we would definitely stay here...
Read moreOne lady at reception was dismissive when I asked her questions about the procedure of checking out early in the morning, She said they had someone 24/7 in the desk which wasn't true. We had an early check out, she said they would would call for a cab for us in the morning. When we come to reception in the morning the doors were locked and nobody in reception waited a godd 15 minutes but nobody came we rang the bell still nobody . We had to force open the electric sliding doors to leave on time for our bus.
I am giving two stars for service as the first lady that checked us in was very polite, friendly and helpful. We arrived before the normal check-in time in the morning was around 8.30 am,we expected just to leave our bags as it was early but she was very kind to check if the room was ready and checked us in. Unfortunately the check out experience and the dismissive reception lady the night before of the check out didn't give me a chance but leave a bad review . Otherwise I would...
Read moreAgree with previous response. If you are expecting a luxurious location with pool, etc, this is not for you. For us, though, it was a perfect spot to visit Our Lady of Fatima. We were warmly welcomed and given our key. The room was clean with two twin beds, one with a trundle underneath. Bathroom was clean and shower had plenty of hot water and strong spray. Breakfast was good--meat, cheeses, breads, coffee, tea, juice, fruit. Served in a lovely dining hall. The whole facility was lovely, really. Beautiful woodwork. Location was perfect in terms of getting to the Basilica. We enjoyed the common area and the bar area. What we most enjoyed, though, was seeing and visiting with the sisters. One elderly sister asked us where we were from. After visiting a bit, she told us, "You are ALWAYS welcome here." So loving and sweet. Please God we will be back. Perfect spot to make the pilgrimage to...
