Santuário de Fátima Homestay — Hotel in Ourém

My experience with this hotel was extremely disappointing. I made a reservation, but due to unforeseen circumstances, I had to request a change. Despite my understanding that the reservation was non-refundable, I politely inquired about the possibility of a refund or cancellation. The hotel owner initially seemed accommodating, suggesting the potential for a refund if I cancelled first and if the room was then rebooked. However, after canceling my reservation as per their instructions, they refused to provide a refund even after the room later became unavailable meaning it had been booked by other guests, despite indicating otherwise. That means they double-dipped, taking both my money and new guest's for the same night. If they declined my request, there was still a chance that I could stay at their hotel. Their communication was misleading and inconsistent, leaving me feeling frustrated and misled. Despite numerous follow-ups and assurances, they ultimately failed to honor their commitment. I had a wonderful stay at the guesthouse. Joe is a fantastic host who showed me all the famous sites in fatima, as well as many beautiful less known sites nearby and beyond. The food at the guest house was excellent where a wide variety of foods were freshly home made every day. The scenery at the back of the guesthouse is also amazing where you can actually see some of the apparition sites! The guesthouse was very clean with free laundry wash and fresh bedding every day. I will definately be coming back here again and||Would highly recommend this...

Simply a place of peace, tranquility, prayer, wonderful. Around the Sanctuary you can find wonderful hotels, wonderful restaurants, typical Portuguese food, very good and fresh, the population is very friendly, available, there is no crime, and a wonderful Sanctuary.
