Arcos de Fátima — Restaurant in Ourém

I have never felt so cheated in my life I came here with my family when on a day trip to Fatima. We chose this place because of the many positive reviews both on google and here.

NEVER BEFORE HAVE I BEEN SO DISAPPOINTED.

When we sat down, immediately we were served small buns with olives and tiny rectangular packages of butter. A nice waiting gift, we thought. WRONG. Turns out every bun costed 1€ and every tiny piece of butter another 1€. The olives were also counted into the bill at 1€. Very surprising. We were not informed of the prices beforehand, the cost of these unordered things came up to 12€ which is the cost of a whole another main dish. Utterly ridiculous, especially taking into consideration the fact that it was presented as a kind of standard free waiting dish.

Another disappointment: At the waiters recommendation we ordered roasted cod. Mine was quite alright, would rate 6/10, but half of my mothers cod was so overdried that she could not chew it for the life of her. One third of my fathers dish was fishbones. To accompany the fish, we were served home made crisps. They were not salted and there were no condiments on the table.

The straw that broke the camels back was the automatically added tip. I always tip and I like to measure the amount the service was worth by myself. The final cost of the simple meal really surprised me and not in a good way. The price was NOT worth the quality.

We're a family with a tour group to Portugal, stop by at Fatima who looked for a good service local restaurant. When I checked the review of this restaurant, you've not only getting a good service but great one! Very fast service! The food served very fast and is so delicious! The price is very very reasonable for a beef steak, turkey steak and octopus steak! We love it! What I'm amazed also is the view of their basement level, it's so lovely. You can take a photo there. Tuve la oportunidad de visitar el restaurante Arcos de Fátima con un grupo de 12 personas. La comida es casera y realmente buena, y las bebidas se sirvieron a tiempo y a la temperatura adecuada. Sin embargo, el servicio al cliente fue una gran decepción. La mala educación y la forma grosera de comunicarse del personal dejaron mucho que desear.

Considerando que Fátima es una ciudad turística, sería ideal que el restaurante se esforzara más en intentar entender a los clientes, incluso si no hablan portugués. Esto podría mejorar significativamente la experiencia general. Espero que mejoren su atención al cliente, ya que la comida es excelente y merece un servicio a la altura.

I had the opportunity to visit the restaurant Arcos de Fátima with a group of 12 people. The food is homemade and really good, and the drinks were served on time and at the right temperature. However, the customer service was a huge disappointment. The staff's rudeness and their harsh way of communicating left much to be desired.

Considering that Fátima is a tourist city, it would be ideal for the restaurant to make more of an effort to try to understand the customers, even if they do not speak Portuguese. This could significantly improve the overall experience. I hope they improve their customer service, as the food is excellent and deserves...
