Das Perola View Hotel sieht von außen hübsch aus und liegt direkt am Meer, nur ein paar Gehminuten von den bekannten Naturpools in Porto Moniz entfernt - das war leider auch schon das einzig Positive an unserem Aufenthalt. Der Check-in war eine Zumutung: Obwohl dieser offiziell ab 16 Uhr möglich ist, war niemand da, der uns die Tür öffnete oder eincheckte. Mehrere Gäste warteten schon länger als wir gegen halb 5 eintrafen. Erst nach einem weiteren Anruf kam jemand. Das erste Zimmer war eine Katastrophe: winzig klein, kein Schrank, keine Ablagefläche, es roch feucht und muffig. An den Wänden fanden sich Schimmelstellen und unsauber ausgebesserte Stellen (schätzungsweise von vorherigen feuchten Stellen). Als wir das beanstanden wurde unser Anliegen nicht ernst genommen - der Herr meinte, er hätte selbst geputzt und könnte den Schimmel „kurz wegmachen“. Kein Verständnis für gesundheitliche Bedenken o.ä. Ein anderes Zimmer bekamen wir nur über eine Hotline, die bei Booking hinterlegt war. Das zweite Zimmer war größer und zumindest augenscheinlich schimmelfrei, jedoch ebenfalls renovierungsbedürftig und von leichten Modergeruch betroffen. Koffer am besten zulassen sonst riecht die Kleidung noch Tage später danach. Das Frühstück haben wir nicht in Anspruch genommen. Auf Nachfrage nach glutenfreiem Brot wurde uns nur gesagt, dass es keins gibt aber Kaffee und O-Saft. Das Hotel ist innen in die Jahre gekommen und renovierungsbedürftig. Ich kann es trotz toller Lage leider derzeit nicht weiterempfehlen. Ein Wiedersehen wird‘s nicht geben.

The hotel has a very good location. Right next to the ocean and natural swimming pools. Service was good. They welcomed us very kindly. We asked them to open a bottle of wine for us and they even offered us wine glasses for the room. Our room was clean and had an ocean view. She just looked a little old. There is a cozy common room with sofas and a terrace. Here you can enjoy one of the most beautiful ocean sunrises and sunsets.

Lovely 2 night stay. Nice room with sea view and balcony. Thought we booked room only but got a complimentary breakfast which was lovely. Friendly service from father and son (?) team. Perfect location right opposite the public (free) natural volcanic seawater pools. No parking on site but a large car park just a couple of minutes stroll away. Would stay again.

We stayed at Perola Views Inn for a few weeks in March. From the moment we arrived until we sadly had to leave, we were treated to the utmost in B&B comfort. The hotel is magnificent, gorgeous and feels so private. The restaurants foods downstairs were excellent and the traditional Madeirense delicacies were a special treat. Of course, the hotel is located in a wonderful area as well, with the natural swimming pools and the free 'old' pool area right across the road. The aquarium, hiking trails and magnificent views all around are just a few of the highlights here. I could go on and on about it, so don't miss this wonderful spot when visiting the islands North. You will thank yourself for a wonderful time. Thanks...

YOU WILL REGRET IT! Do not stay here! Both the property and the management company - Madeira sun travel - are thieves. Half decorated walls, mould, unfit for living. We left. It’s a scam!||||The hotel was nothing like the advertisement photos. I prepaid, booking.com cashed the money. I called booking.com’s customer service, they asked me to contact the property, so I spoke to the person on site who didn’t even speak English. Nowhere in my tens of calls to booking was I told that there was a third party involved. That third party is Madeira sun travel. I finally called them and after several calls and threats I managed to get a refund. Madeira sun travel is a scam, just like the property...

Accommodation: Our room was equipped with a double bed and a closet. Access to a balkony with ocean view and a clean bathroom with bathtube (but no hair dryer, for those who mind). Living room with couches available in common area on 1st floor. Free parking space nearby. For 44€/night for 2 people incl. breakfast good value for money.

Food: Breakfast from 9-10am only. Bread rolls, cheese, ham, butter and egg as well as joghurt and cereals. Big plus for the fresh orange juice and tasty coffee. Other food for dinner (e.g. burgers) tasty as well. Restaurant closes at 7pm.

Staff: Tony was very friendly and is around all day in case of any questions. (Speaks limited...
