The Jolie - Apartments by the ocean — Hotel in Porto Moniz

We were guests of the apartment in March 2024. The location of the apartment is great and the small room was nicely decorated.

However, when we first entered the room, we noticed the stale air and a smell. Wondering where the smell was coming from, we saw a large area of dark spots on the curtain which looked suspiciously like mold. When we told the host, they immediately changed the curtain. On the second day, we were also greeted by some insects in the bathroom/ on fresh toilet paper rolls, which we were told was the first time this had happened. Given these experiences, I wouldn't recommend this apartment and hope that the room will be improved to allow for better air circulation.

I only stayed for 1 nights at Jolie Apartments but it was a very nice stay. The communication from the owner was great and it was easy to check-in. The room itself was small but that's the room I requested, so all good. If you want a bigger room then you can easily book a bigger room with more facilities. The room was laid out and deigned lovely, however, because of its location the sun beat down into it meaning it was incredibly hot at all times!
