I recently stayed at O’LOPO hostel for two months and it was awesome! I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a long or short term stay in Porto. One of the standout features of O’LOPO hostel is its fantastic atmosphere. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by a warm and friendly staff who made me feel right at home🫶🏻They were always available to answer any questions I had and went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The rooms and common areas were always spotless, and the staff made sure to maintain a high standard of cleanliness throughout my entire stay. Good showers with hot water and good pressure. The kitchen was a big plus. It has everything you need. I saved money by cooking my own meals. The location was perfect, O’LOPO hostel is conveniently situated within a 10-minute walk of supermarkets, laundry, cafes, and both bus and train stations. This made it incredibly easy for me to explore Porto and its surrounding areas. Additionally, the hostel is located in a quiet area, and I always felt safe even when returning late at night. The only noise you can hear is your neighbors, everything inside the hostel is quite audible. Overall, O’LOPO hostel was amazing and I will definitely be staying at O’LOPO again when I return to Porto. In my opinion, it is the best hostel I have...
Read moreAn out of the way hostel that was definitely nicer than many I have come across. I had a private and it was very spacious and comfortable. Two storage areas for your clothing flanking the large bed. Towels and soap were provided and waiting on the bed when I arrived. Bathroom was a little on the smaller side, but perfectly functional and bright. Only had two issues with the room itself, lack of power outlets, and the typical basement like smell that you can’t seem to avoid no matter where you are. They did try to combat that with a air freshener plugin, but it only helped so much. Upstairs in the common area there was a TV and plenty of seating options to hang out with other guests. The kitchen was quite large and very nice I thought. Two full-sized refrigerators, with one with filtered water so you could fill your own bottle. The staff is very friendly and accommodating which made it a plus. If you are looking for a more local feel and away from the touristy areas, this is a great place to stay. Otherwise, I would choose options more central, that didn’t require a ten minute walk and a train ride to see more...
Read moreWe stayed 11 nights in this hostel for our trip to Porto. At the start, there were some problems with booking.com. The prices on booking.com are lower than the hostel actually charges for your stay. The hostel was very quick with solutions and we got a little compensation, it wasn’t a problem for us at all.
The hostel is really worth your money. The rooms are very clean, the toilets and showers as well. The kitchen and living room had everything we needed during our stay; more than enough kitchen supplies, free filtered water, stickers for your own food. The guests that stay here were all so nice, the people that live & work there as well :)
The location is a little further away from the city, but very quiet imo. The main station is a 10 minute walk away and there is a busstop close-by. Uber/bolt is very accessible in this area.
The terrace on the roof was a really unexpected but nice touch! I will definitely be recommending this hostel, thank you so much! Greetings from the Dutch...
