Porto Spot Hostel — Hotel in Porto

Thank you so much for the great customer service, big thanks . My stay nice's experience became a nice part of my tourism trip to porto.. My name is La...Ha.. Big thanks to "Jorge" for his positive langage, I'm not sure what is his status in the hostel but Waw, waw, waw, when you says "waw" remember you are dealing with someone very professional, that's the customer service skills they teached me abroad.. I tried to cancel at the beginning for some very important reasons, he answered me with a beautiful smile and positivity, I ended up not cancelling but extending my stay twice, and leaving the hostel with tears like I'm leaving my family in porto. Yes I felt im protected around and not a visitor.. I traveled a lot in my life, do not thing it's my first travel experience, i came to this hostel leaving a 4 star hotel in porto due to the loneness feeling, I guarantee for you this hostel Is AMAZING.

Oh my god when I see him in the kitchen, I know every thing is going to be well, Thank you "Marcelo pequeno almoço" this respected person does a wonderful job in the kitchen, a wonderful , you feels like he likes his job he admire it, he works seriously from his heart, he makes sure there is replacement of milk or the butter ect when they run out all the time, he even serve you with utensils or something when he sees you trying to get them, he deserves to be promoted, his work catches my eyes in the kitchen, thank you so much.. I will return to this hostel when I visit porto again , many thanks...

Two words: bed bugs. The hostel is well located and the reception staff are friendly. However, it only took me 2 nights to notice the bedbugs in my private room. On bed sheet/pillow case, then saw a little one running around one the night table. The staff had to find me a room at another location overnight at 2am - walked there with all my luggage in the middle of the night (thank you Luis you were very helpful and nice, also for helping me wash my clothes under high heat). I was informed that the manager would be in, in the morning and that it should be no problem getting my stay reimbursed. I slept 3.5 hrs that night. A total nightmare. However, as I showed up in the morning, I was informed the manager was not there and would not be there, and that the issue will be resolved over email. I have sent 3 emails since then and have gotten no response, no reimbursement. Porto Spot Hostel has ghosted me. A total disappointment. I would highly recommend against staying at the Porto Spot Hostel until they have COMPLETELY resolved their bed bugs problem, because bed bugs being present in my private room only means there are infestations in other rooms as well. If you have stayed within the last few weeks: please wash and dry all your clothes under high heat and check all your luggage for bed bugs. If you already have a stay booked: consider cancelling/switching. Nobody deserves to stay in a room full of bedbugs and getting eaten alive, not to mention running the risk of bringing those back home and to loved ones. Disgusting....

Very nice place, not counting the amazing snorer in our room... Its cleaned regularly the beds are very comfy, (a little lose on top bunk though or at least it seemed.) the location is well connected its a breeze to walk anywhere or catch public transport took 30-40 min to get there from airport around midnight with PT. There are nice common areas to socialize too, comfy cluches indoor and nice sitting areas outside. The breakfast was alright too. A little bit of caution, i dont know if any of the rooms have private bathroom oirs didn't instead there was a communal bathroom for the whole floor (4 rooms i think? Ours was 8bed) with 2 toulets and 3 showers, i think in heavy season there may be some queue not much of a problem on my visit. The washing area sink could use some maintenance though, there were a couple that werent working. There is also one fridge for whole place, at least as far as i saw and it was pretty packed if thats something you care about. A bit of a recommendation, would be nice kf the hostel made some ecents or something.. there wasnt any while i was there and overall atmosphere needed an ice breaker to get people going. Im done yapping definitely worth the price and would go back if im here again....
