Ela — Hotel in Sibiu

Starting with the good stuff: the place is close to the old center, on a quiet alleyway. The rooms are cozy, rustically decorated. Now the bad: the weather on our first night there was particularly cold, so I asked the hostess to turn the heat up a bit. I was met with dismissive behavior, almost insulting, due to our 'ineptitude' to turn the radiators to high ourselves. After she told us we should put some more clothes on us to fight the cold, she came and turned the radiators up and said that the heating system was running intermittently with a thermostat, and if we didn't like it, to turn the heat up from the boiler ourselves. The radiators didn't heat up for a good two hours, I indeed had to fiddle with the boiler (which I've never done before) to actually get some warmth to be able to comfortably sleep through the night. She seemed very keen on saving money on heating, even if it meant discomfort for her guests. The Wi-Fi was also bad, I had to use...

A wonderfully warm, friendly and helpful greeting at this lovely pensiunea. Large room which was very clean, big fluffy towels, wifi was good, hot water with good pressure and in such a great location being so close to all the main attractions. Great to be able to make a cup of tea or coffee in the little kitchen, and although you can't cook we made rolls for lunch and sat here with friends to eat cold chicken and salad. The beds are extremely firm and although I have slept on some hard beds I found I didn't sleep well. Some cold nights while we were there, down to zero and slightly below, and the heating is good when it comes on, but only two hours in the evening and one hour from 6:30am in the morning it was a tad chilly when showering and dressing outside...

SUPER nice, cozy and peaceful place. If you're looking for a place to stay for a day or two, even for a whole vacation, this place would be ideal. It is located at walking distance from the Bridge of Lies, The Council Tower and all the other great touristic attractions in the Sibiu Historic Center. It has a kitchen with all the appliances necessary to cook and/or keep your favorite food and drinks. It also have a beautiful back yard where you can relax after an exhausting day or simply to enjoy the peacefulness of it. The very nice, respectful and friendly personnel will make sure your stay will be one of the best experiences in your life. We were profoundly impressed by this place and we will definitely come back when we'll be traveling...
