Flamingo — Hotel in Zona Metropolitană Brașov

Having read some of the previous scathing reviews I'm happy to report that this place has really upped its game since. I stayed for two nights in August 2022, and I have nothing but praise to give. All the staff spoke decent English and were very kind and helpful, and the room was clean and tidy. Prior to our arrival we contacted the property to ask if we could please have a room on the ground floor as one of my party uses a walker. This modest request was swiftly granted. :) ||||Also, the property's location is brilliant – the Old Town is only 1 km (0.6 miles) away, and a taxi to the train station only set us back 17 lei (€/$3.50). ||||If I were to nitpick, then one of the staff made a bit of a blunder when ordering a taxi for us, as she ordered an Uber instead of a regular taxi. In fairness, she was probably trying to save us a few lei (much appreciated!), but unfortunately she forgot to check if the car would have room for said walker. Ok, no biggie, we realised empirically that it didn't fit in the boot (that's "trunk" to any Americans reading this), parted ways with the Uber driver, and ordered a bigger, regular taxi instead. But, again, we weren't really inconvenienced in any way, and we had plenty of time to spare before our train would leave. ||||So, overall a very pleasant stay, and at a very fair price, too. I'll definitely be staying here again the next time the wind takes me...

Stayed at this hotel with my family and was not impressed. The room was fine for 4 people, but the style of the hotel is some of the ugliest I have ever seen. Our tv stood on top of fridge which I found very weird and not very decorative...|We chose this place because of the location and the free parking, but when we arrived there was no empty spots. What was even more weird was that we where the only ones at the hotel. Later in the evening we heard a lot of noise from a party and tried to look where it came from and found out that there was a party in the parking place!? |The receptionist had told us that the parking was taking by some "workers"... I don't know what was going on but the whole place was so uninviting and unfriendly and the fact that they were lying to us at the reception is so uacceptable. Will not recommend this...

Citisem înainte să merg acolo cu prietenii mei că nu e un loc pentru pretențioși. Nu sunt eu cea mai pretențioasă persoană, dar acolo nu mă mai întorc. Ne-am cazat de vineri până luni. De la intrarea in hotel, respectiv camere, ne-a izbit un miros de îmbâcsit de țigară amestecat cu rânced, cu umed. Băile din toate cele 3 camere pe care le-am luat miroseau a canalizare. Am lăsat geamurile deschise și am plecat in plimbare prin Brașov. La întoarcere totul a fost ok. (mai puțin mirosul care desigur era același). Am rugat-o pe recepționeră să ne lase in holul hotelului unde era o masă drăguță și canapele, să jucăm remi. A fost amabilă și ne-a lăsat, ba chiar ne-a mai adus niște fotolii ca să ne simțim bine și chiar ne-am simțit. Dar a venit ziua a doua, recepționeră d-na Laura. Lucrurile s-au schimbat la 180 grade. După cum am spus mirosul nu prea ne lăsa să stam in camere. După o plimbare din nou prin oraș, ne-am intors la prânz la hotel să ne odihnim și să bem o cafea în minunatul hol. Dar de data asta d-na Laura a fost mai aprigă: ” Nu se poate!. Patronul nu acceptă! dacă vreți vă duc în beci.” :))))) ”Serios??? Nu cred că vreau” am replicat eu. Totuși mi-a explicat că e un beci mai deosebit așa că m-a făcut curioasă. Am mers cu ea. Era intr-adevăr un loc interesant, un fost bar presupun, cu mese, scaune, masă de pinpong. Problema era ca acolo chiar nu se putea respira. acolo nu mirosea urât, acolo puțea de-abinelea. Așa se explica și mirosul din camere și băi. Deci d-na Laura nu ne-a dat voie să bem cafeaua in hol asa că ne-am dus pe bancă in parc, la aer curat. Cred că d-na Laura ne-a vrut binele in felul ei :)). Eiii...dar când ne-am intors...surpriză! D-na Laura era cu picioarele pe o pernuță pe minunata masă din hol și fuma, deși fumatul era interzis acolo. Așa că ne-am dus fiecare in camerele noastre ca niște turiști cuminți ca să nu ne mai certe d-na Laura. A trecut cu bine și seara a doua și a venit ultima zi, cea in care ne despărțeam de minunata pensine/hotel...Dar ne-am luat palme de dimineață de la un proprietar din curte (n-am ințeles prea bine ce era cu el) care ”nu incăpea” cu mașina (și nu era vreun camion) de răul motocicletelor noastre puse inghesuit pe lângă zidul pensiunii. Asta e....În rest a fost...
