Old Shanghai Restaurant — Restaurant in Zona Metropolitană Brașov

It used to have great food. Lately, it seems they want to cook with no condiments, everything tastes plane and it seems made in a hurry, just to put something on the plate, and it got worse and worse for about one year. Sadly it does not resemble Chinese cuisine anymore. What really annoyed me was the staff. They always act like they are doing you a favor for cooking and serving you (it is a restaurant) - even though the prices are a bit spicy. Last time we wanted to order take-away from them, they told my girlfriend the last order was almost 2 hours before the closing hour. Still, we wanted to eat Chinese food so I have called back to order ( there still were about 12-15 minutes until the last take-away order time - which they told us 3 minutes earlier). Still, they refused very rudely, being really arrogant, visibly making up lame excuses for not wanting to honor our order (quote "it will take us time to deliver the food to you and it cant be done" - translated from bad attempt of Romanian) - isnt that the definition of delivery within your working hours?! . Again, it is a shame it came down to this, because about one year ago they had really good food. Now I do not recommend it at all. We have eaten here several times and the food rarely disappoints. It’s true, there’s not much choice in the way of Chinese food in Braşov, in fact there’s not that much choice in the whole of Romania, but that doesn’t mean the choices you have are bad, far from it. The food here never really disappoints. It can vary from visit to visit, in fact on our last visit we had the hot sour soup and it was definitely not up to the usual standard we have experienced before. But luckily the rest of our food was as tasty as always. If there is a complaint to be made it is about the service, which isn’t bad, or miserable, it can just be a little slow from time to time. This seems to be down to the simple fact that they are understaffed. On our last visit they were so busy with take away orders that they had to turn people away from the restaurant as they simply couldn’t cope. They definitely need to throw an ad in the window or something. All things considered though, the food is good and the restaurant is really nice. So if you’re looking for some tasty Chinese food then you really can’t go wrong here. i ordered corn soup but the taste is like water + corn + egg you can litterally taste individually all the ingredients as someone from asia and ate corn soup all my life this is the most disgusting corn soup i ever had also the server feels like they are not enthusiastic with their job , when i arrived i even asked where can i sit , no smile or even an acknowledgement that i arrived . i also ordered sweet and sour pork ribs , they are dry and just slathered with sweet and sour sauce . if you are from asia do not eat at this restaurant i felt like that i was being discriminated , when i ordered sprite i was just given a bottle and a straw , i saw someone from another table who ordered the same drink and was given automatically a glass , also the nerve of this restaurant to recommend a tip based on percentage as if this is the norm in romania, i will never recommend this...
