0/10. The reviews aren’t reflecting the experience we had in this “resort” and so the pictures and I really believe they are fake ones.. First of all, what a surprise when realising the pool was completely closed for renovations when we choosed that place for that reason and was replaced by an INTEX pool right in the middle of a tennis area (???). We choosed that hotel for our 2 last nights in Seychelles and this was just unacceptable and not fair to let people paid and don’t even get a proper service. No one ever told us about it even if the Managers said they did multiple times, we checked all together the different e-mails and informations we got from them and Agoda and they claimed that “this is not their fault and we should contact Agoda which told us to contact the hotel 🙃 and no refundable option) So after arguing for about 2h at dinner time, they finally accept to “offer” a dinner at their restaurant (25€ for 2 and didn’t even paid for the 2 beverages) instead of letting us go somewhere else and refund us. They at least gave us an other room, as the resort was empty. The room was better and lot more cleaner than the first one. Then the day we were supposed to leave (at 7:15AM) I asked the day before to get a breakfast for the day after, as we paid for 2 breakfasts included because the breakfast open at 7:30, and the manager said they could only make a breakfast box to collect at the desk in the morning but we couldn’t choose what we wanted and the next morning we literally got : half sandwich, 2 apples and a juice. So we came at the desk to get some more bananas or whatever as we were hangry and we’ve seen the breakfast food was almost fully set up at 7 AM and she told us : no, 7:30 and not before. Sandwiches made us sick all day (was perfect for the ferry and flight back home) probably because the sandwich was not kept in the fridge since the night before….
So I’m sorry but we were absolutely not happy about our stay and never ever will recommend that place. A real waste of money and time. There are better places (even guest houses next door) cheaper, more modern and cleaner that deserves your money more than they do.
You should really consider changing your way to receive customers properly and not saying you know hospitality better especially to someone who has herself worked in hotels and catering in 3 different countries for years. Not an excuse and not the way to make up for your own mistakes. Also you both lied to us saying we should ask Agoda for a refund because the money goes to them first cause they told us the entire payment is going straight to your hotel it’s the way it works with Agoda. So you both definitely don’t know how to run a resort except for making the money but definitely not for guest relation.
We wanna thanks the lady at the desk on night shifts and our waiter in the restaurant who were very professional and made our experience a...
Read moreWe had a comfortable stay at Berjaya and spent 6 days in this property with a half board option.
Breakfast was really good, it included salty and sweet products. I have to underline that they also offer freshly made crêpes, waffles, omlette and any type of eggs that are really delicious!
The dinner was served on the buffet and included every night different themed dishes: an asian night, mediterranian, creole..
The buffet lead by Chef Manjit was good and the Chef is very careful and always available in case of food allergies and is ready to offer a solution for everybody’s taste. We sincerely appreciated his availability and kindness towards us that made us really feel special.
What involves the organisation of our days, we sincerely wanted to thank Bilal as he was always available to respond to our whatsapp messages and gave us really good hints and suggestions that we treasured. He also made us discover the bus service that is such a good and authentic way to discover the island. We didn’t rent a car and the hotel is in a strategic position, right in front of the bus stop.
The property is not the newest, I know there are renovated rooms, however we were in an older one that was simple, we didn’t need more as we spent all our day outside.
They are currently trying to improve the structure by renovating the pool, in fact all the rooms that do have a pool view are unable to see it as workside. That is also a pity as it is in front of the breakfast area. This has been communicated to the travel partner, however ours did not inform us. There is indeed a communication on the hotel website.
The location besides of the bus stop right in front, offers also the possibility to reach the beach in one minute. There are also plenty of food offers / trucks and restaurants that will offer dinner in case you are not interested in the half board offer. There are also souvenirs, supermarkets, money exhange services right nearby that makes everything very simple.
There is also the Berjaya Pizzeria Restaurant right in front of the beach where you can have a drink after dinner or choose any of their dishes from the Menu.
Suggested for those who like simplicity and are searching for a structure in a strategic location to...
Read moreI’m writing this review the way I wish someone had written before I booked this hotel.
To be very honest, the high rating this hotel has is solely because of Bilal, the manager. He is genuinely kind, helpful, and professional — and I truly hope he’s being well compensated, as he seems to be the only reason this hotel is still running.
The facilities and rooms are outdated. The Wi-Fi is extremely weak, and the breakfast is very poor in quality — we basically had eggs and fruit every day. They could easily improve it by adding croissants, fresh juices, or even coconuts, which literally grow in the garden.
Aside from Bilal, the rest of the staff behave as if they’re doing you a favor — no smiles, no welcoming attitude.
We saw several cockroaches in the hotel, and had the awful experience of finding a huge one in our bathroom — right next to our toothbrushes. Absolutely disgusting.
To make things worse, there was a power outage that lasted from night until noon. With 40°C outside, it was almost impossible to sleep without air conditioning — and the hotel has no generator — by the way, our AC wasn’t working properly either — it was only blowing air like a fan, with no actual cooling.
For $310 a night, you can definitely find better options.
And I’ll add one more tip for those planning to visit Seychelles: stay in a good hotel in Mahe. That’s it! Don’t waste your time looking for Praslin or La Digue hotels. There are boats and excursions every day from Mahe to those islands (and 1 day...
