The room was quite nice, and the bed was comfortable, even though at first it seemed a bit hard. The bathroom is big and the shower is very good. The only problem with the room is that it can get very very warm. I turned the heat completely off and even opened the window, and it was still too hot to sleep with a blanket. This resulted in several nights of not sleeping well.
The reception staff and the cleaning staff were very friendly. I was properly welcomed when I arrived, and everything was explained to me in detail. They really push the steakhouse on you. It’s not that I don’t like steak, it’s just that I prefer to make the decision myself. The hotel in general is slightly above average. The one thing that I was very unsatisfied with was the breakfast. If you like cold, runny, scrambled eggs this is the place to stay. The first day I got my eggs first and then went back for my coffee and what they called juice (which is actually flavored water) only to find the eggs on my plate cold. The next day, I a different strategy: I got my coffee and flavored water first, then went to get the eggs from the heated area of the breakfast buffet. Same result: cold, runny eggs. Add to this the fact that they rope off half of the dining room and herd you into the section nearest the smoking room. The door to the smoking room always remains a little open, and a few guests actually got up and closed it only to have it reopened by one of the staff. I suppose they want the smokers to have fresh air. The problem is the smoke from the smoking room permeates the half of the dining room where we were forced to sit. Also, after being herded like cattle into that half of the dining room, I had to stand and wait for a table to free up, because the staff is too lazy to work with the whole room. There were three of us (not together) there waiting for a table while our food was getting cold. The staff walked around us smiling. I don’t think I’ve ever had breakfast this bad at a hotel claiming to be a four-star hotel. I usually stay at the Hilton, but it was booked full for the week, so I was put up here. Next time I will explicitly ask to be accommodated...
Read moreIf you're looking for a well-located base to explore the vibrant city of Kosice and return to a calm, comfortable environment each evening, this hotel fits the bill beautifully. It's in a great spot for sightseeing, dining, and soaking up the local culture, yet still offers a peaceful retreat at the end of a busy day.||||The staff were generally friendly and helpful, and it's clear they’re doing their best under challenging circumstances — staffing in Kosice’s hospitality sector continues to face pressure, which is worth keeping in mind. Despite this, service throughout the hotel remained pleasant and professional for the most part.||||While many elements of the stay met or exceeded expectations — from the décor to the cleanliness and ambiance — the breakfast experience fell a little short. Given the hotel’s overall standard and pricing, I expected a more polished and varied offering. It wasn’t bad by any means, but it didn’t quite align with the rest of the experience.||||Room layouts and sizes vary quite a bit depending on the category you book. Although the design is thoughtful and the spaces are well-maintained, none of the room options feel particularly spacious. If room size is a priority for you, it’s worth managing expectations or contacting the hotel in advance to...
Read moreVery courteous reception staff, rooms extremely clean, cleaned daily, service of the highest standard. Nice, modern and well maintained rooms. The biggest minus of the hotel is the restaurant. Breakfast for 4* simply poor. If at 8 o'clock, and breakfasts last until 10, the cheesecake is finished and "there will be no more", it is a little strange approach to the quality of service to guests. So what, you have to be there at 6:30 to eat, because if you don't it will run out? Second issue. If in Slovakia it is obligatory to wear FFP2 masks in the restaurant, on the way to the table, I ask: why the service is not exemplary here? Why do they not admonish guests who cough without masks over their food? And the last question- shouldn't the staff cover their mouth and nose with this mask? So why are noses sticking out from under FFP2 masks? As a foreign guest, I am not interested in the beliefs of the restaurant staff. I am interested in the rules of the country. Which I respect. I myself often spend 10-11 hours a day in a mask. And I know that it is possible. Employees of steak restaurants do not wear...
